The thing I don't get is why would it be a problem to lose here when you claim to only have about a year left in wrestling? Someone who's winding down their career, seemingly wanting to build and protect their character and image is a little weird no? Like yeah a squash match doesn't do much for either team, but you're here and you could get a paycheck and move on or have the opportunity next time to say "hey can we have the full details of our work beforehand?" Idk, but it doesn't make sense unless they really thought aew would give them a competitive match when they're unsigned. But why would you even think that? How many unsigned people have had competitive matches against Aew talent that weren't highly touted wrestlers? Do people really think AEW is just something to leach off of? I'm really not understanding 🤷‍♂️
