Genuinely, out of respect for you, I want to share my perspective. I’m a veteran. I was personally attacked four separate times in Baghdad by Iranian backed proxy militias, the PMF. The last one was in 2022 while I was working as a contractor, and I caught it on my GoPro. I’ve taken indirect fire and small arms fire, and a large portion of the attacks on U.S. personnel overseas come from Iranian backed groups. From where I’ve stood, the IRGC is not some abstract political issue. They are a real and active threat. They’ve targeted Americans, destabilized multiple countries in the region, and supported networks that spread violence. Their leadership has made it clear they see the U.S. and Israel as enemies. I understand people have strong views about Israel, and I’m not saying Israel is without fault. But the IRGC is a threat that was always going to have to be confronted at some point. Dealing with it sooner rather than later can prevent more loss of life, including American lives and even Iranian lives in the long run. You’re an American. Whatever your background or beliefs, your safety and the safety of the people around you matter first. A lot of the noise online right now, especially from Groypers, turns everything into a conspiracy or a narrative for clicks. If the weather is bad groypers are blaming "the joos". That kind of thinking isn’t grounded in reality, and it distracts from real threats. It's flavor of the week bandwagon tribalism. The same groypers who say they care about U.S. troops turn around and call any service member who sees Iran as a threat an “Israeli shill.” They call us “cannon fodder for Jews.” They don't give a shit about the military, honor, or service. They just care about optics and trying to win an argument, much like the leftists on the otherside of the same coin. I don’t serve Israel, I serve Americans. I’m not going to lie about what I’ve seen just to chase clicks or approval because it's the IN thing. I don't need to play hero, I didn't serve for accolades nor do I deserve them. I believe Iraq was a mistake, I said so in my early twenties while serving. But this isn't GWOT 2.0. This isn't Iraq 2.0 If you watch around 2:01 in my GoPro footage, you can see us taking indirect fire, I'll put the link below. The C-RAM intercepted most of it, but it was real. I’m not sharing that for praise or attention. I’m sharing it so people understand that the threat from Iranian backed forces isn’t theoretical for many veterans, it’s real life for us. I respect you and your beliefs, and I know we may disagree. But I want you to understand that many veterans, at least the ones I know personally, see Iran’s proxy network as a serious threat that needs to be addressed. That perspective doesn’t always get represented in media or podcasts, but it’s real. And look no further than the Iranians themselves, who are cheering on their own liberation. This intervention was necessary, the IRGC is pure fucking evil. Surgical strikes from the air that are setting back the regime 30 years will be remembered as a success. And it is the popular opinion, regardless of what X portrays right now. youtube.com/watch?v=szLgmD…
