In 1998 Ed Fouche, claiming insider knowledge, described the TR-3B as a classified Lockheed aircraft utilizing "gravity control" via a pressurized mercury plasma system. The craft allegedly can hover indefinitely, perform 40G accelerations, and fly nearly silently.
He described his family as fifth-generation French-American, with ancestral roots in intelligence and government service, including a claimed connection to the French statesman Joseph Fouché.
Drafted during the Vietnam era (circa 1968), Fouché entered the U.S. Air Force. He attended over a year of military schooling, including electronics, communications, intelligence, and cryptology training. He was stationed at various Air Force bases (e.g., Kadena AFB in Okinawa, Udorn AFB in Thailand, Ben Hoi AFB in Vietnam) between 1967 and 1974.
Fouché asserted extensive experience with classified (“black”) programs, advanced electronics, avionics, cryptological systems, test equipment, and countermeasures, claiming thousands of hours of classified technical training. He claimed roles as a Major Command Liaison, Headquarters manager, and Department of Defense factory representative for multiple Air Force Commands (TAC, SAC, ATC, PACAF).
After military service, he said he worked as a defense contractor manager involved with classified development of military electronics and avionics.
Fouché became known publicly in 1998 when he presented at the International UFO Congress, claiming firsthand knowledge of classified aerospace technology, including the alleged TR-3B flying triangle craft. His assertions included advanced materials (e.g., metamaterials/quasicrystals) and exotic propulsion concepts, well before they appeared in mainstream discussion.
Fouché described the heart of the TR-3B as a “Magnetic Field Disruptor” (MFD), a circular accelerator ring surrounding the craft’s central crew compartment. It was filled with highly pressurized plasma, reportedly mercury-based. The plasma was claimed to be pressurized to extreme levels (quoted figures like ~250,000 atmospheres) and super-cooled (around 150 Kelvin). The ring would spin at very high rotational speeds (figures such as ~50,000–60,000 rpm are typically cited in these descriptions). This combination was said to create a superconductive plasma state inside the ring.
The MFD did not produce thrust like a jet or rocket, but instead manipulated gravity/inertia. The spinning plasma ring supposedly generated a magnetic vortex field that would “disrupt” or neutralize the effects of Earth’s gravitational pull on the craft’s mass. Typical figures associated with this claim state a mass/inertia reduction of roughly 89 percent, meaning the craft, and everything inside, would effectively be much lighter and less constrained by conventional inertia. Because inertia and gravitational force were allegedly reduced, the craft could accelerate or change direction with extremely high performance while placing a lesser effective stress on occupants.
- Nuclear power sources provide the enormous energy required to sustain the plasma ring and any associated field generation. Three multimode thrusters mounted at each corner of the triangular airframe, sometimes cited as the systems that provide residual thrust or attitude control once gravitational mass is reduced.
Fouché asserted that the technology was derived from reverse-engineered non-human or alien aerospace technology obtained through classified programs.
