@gigahurtzgamer @SteamDeckHQ @valvesoftware most PC gamers have steam installed. if a game you want to use with it is on a different platform just run it through steam. steam input works on even non-steam games.

@ZeroZero_Python @SteamDeckHQ @valvesoftware if any other controller required use with a launcher you had to launch steam games from, pc gamers would have a meltdown

@gigahurtzgamer @SteamDeckHQ @valvesoftware wasnt that long ago that you needed a piece of software to translate playstation controller inputs to xinput. besides the steam controller is a keyboard according to your OS. its set up this way because the alternative is editing the firmware.

@ZeroZero_Python @gigahurtzgamer @SteamDeckHQ @valvesoftware you still technically do - not all games have dinput built in. forza horizon 5 is on PS5, yet doesn’t pick up a PS Controller.

@whyyylmao @gigahurtzgamer @SteamDeckHQ @valvesoftware til! i dont use a playstation controllers (actually never have owned any sony consoles so have never owned one of their controllers) you could probably get it to work by running it under Steam and just use Steam Input.
