99.5% of trips do not exceed the daily range of your average modern EV. All this bullshit about needing huge ranges is a pile of crap. Nevertheless BYD has recently come out with a system that goes from 10% to 70% in five minutes. EV is the future. If the US and Can. don't get on side we will be left in the dust. F150's and gun racks are not the future.

@WilliamShatner Tesla gives regular people a 48 hour test drive. For Captain Kirk they would probably let you drive it indefinitely! Sir, after a test drive you will wonder how you ever got along without a self driving car. It makes daily driving much less stressful. Take a drive.

@WilliamShatner Take a test drive and try FSD if you haven’t already. Teslas are awesome! I bought one for my 91-year-old mother and she uses full self driving to get around town flawlessly.

@WilliamShatner Grab and S before they stop getting made 410 miles. Or wait and hope the YL comes here that is 423 miles it gets 681KM in Australia/China. Def the longest mileage per charge on a Tesla

Bill, you are older than me (barely) and there is absolutely no way I can last even 200 miles (3 hours?) without a pit stop....my organs aren't what they used to be. You barely have enough time to do your business and you have another 200miles already added to the battery. Just did a round trip from BC to Ottawa in winter, a trip I wouldn't have even attempted outside of a Tesla, FSD and the car itself are just that good.

@WilliamShatner 500 miles? Unless you’re towing, no need. It’s completely different than driving a gas car. Your mindset changes. Just as different as horse and buggy to a Zephyr.

You can get 80% charge in 15 mins at a super charger. That's roughly 200 miles. I would have figured that bistros and such would have devised a way to make coffee while your car charges enticing, with offers like... free internet, video game arcade, burgers, swanky stuff, dance floor, roller rink... ya know bowling... something. But yeah... 500 is better than 200, especially when you can appreciate the middle of knoware. Lemme do some math on niche remote charging, or towtruck super charging services. No gas can, no problem... it's tricky... but it's also not exactly the norm yet... 500... good benchmark.

@WilliamShatner The schills are strong. 300 miles range means you get 200 total miles in real world driving. It’s all a bunch of BS.

@WilliamShatner At your age I would expect you'd have to stop to pee well before 500 miles.

When was the last time you drove 500 miles in one day? And let's be honest: the battery in any new Tesla will last longer than your bladder, old friend. It'll be ready to go again by the time you get back in the car. Rent one for a weekend road trip with Full Self-Driving and let us know.

@WilliamShatner You do not understand charging. Also you should realize that 3 out of every 4 gallons of gas you put in your car is 100% wasted as heat. (unless you are the one selling the gas)

@WilliamShatner If you get a Tesla, you won't ever drive it 😉. The Full Self Driving is incredible. It does 99% of my dining. The only time I take over is it park specifically where I need to.
