I can’t wait to get this Tesla Roadster 2.0 and list it on Turo for $999 per day. So many people will rent it at that rate. I’ll have it paid off in about 3 months.

@WilliamShatner 500 miles? Unless you’re towing, no need. It’s completely different than driving a gas car. Your mindset changes. Just as different as horse and buggy to a Zephyr.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@JCChristopher now do it with AP and now do it going 60mph up to that curve. Report back if you can prevent a crash 2s before hitting the curve :)

I just retraced the exact same path on 69 Eastex Freeway going northbound on the HOV lane and taking the Eastex Park & Ride exit, and Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5 handled its perfectly. It was the exact same setup on the exit as in the Fox News video. FSD slowed down with no vehicles directly in front as we entered the pylon area, and made a buttery smooth right turn.

@AndyZeGerman I never have to take over for a safety issue. Only personal preference. 52k miles in less than two years, 90% FSD since v14.

Years ago, I used the weight on the steering wheel in order not having to touch the steering and travel "hands free". After doing a major road trip with it, I decided never ever to use a cheating device again. I did not want to fall asleep and continue to travel without any chance to take over if needed. Perhaps causing an accident or worse, kill someone while not paying attention. We all know that FSD was not as good on version 12/13 as it seems now with version 14. Still every now and then I run into a situation where I am glad I can take over.

‼️FSD Cabin Camera Hack That’s Going Viral 👀 This little gadget holds a photo right in front of the mirror so the car thinks you’re still paying attention — even when you’re not. Would YOU use it? Or is it playing with fire? I already use FSD about 99% of the time in my Tesla… so if it ever feels truly unsupervised-ready, who knows — maybe I’d actually try something like this. Btw what happens is drivers see that autopilot is about to cause a crash and disengage it to try to stop the crash and it’s too late. Then tesla gets to say that autopilot wasn’t engaged

@XillixBaker There is virtually no new nuclear being built in Texas with the exception of a few SMR pilot projects. So, for at least the next 10-15 years, nuclear won't impact ERCOT beyond the two reactors we already have.

Renewables advocates in Texas, natural gas is your friend not your enemy. Solar ramped up from 0GW at 7am to 20GW at 9am. The only way that works is because natural gas fired power plants could ramp down that quickly. Batteries certainly helped, and will continue to take more of that burden. But natural gas is your friend.

Fun Fact: You'll never drive a Cybertruck and be disappointed. This is Tesla's best vehicle yet. If you own a gas or electric car and drive a Cybertruck, you'll end up wanting one. It's just that good. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. 📐

@CyberMikeOG Yep, absolute bullshit story. No chance does FSD approach the turn with that much speed unless operator has foot on accelerator.

With just a simple $.05 zip tie you can temporarily disable any lime scooter that’s knocked over and blocking the sidewalk such that the company has to come and retrieve it. It’s everyone’s job to look after the commons and re-internalize negative externalities.

You don't - you can simply sit on the seat and pedal it to your destination. But those bikes don't get ridden for transport in place of the SUV - they get ridden for leisure twice a year in Center Parcs, which just so happens to be one of the few places you can't drive an SUV.
Noah Dontbelieveyou@NoahDontbelieve

@EntitledCycling @but_cyclists I love the idea that you need a 5000 pound SUV to transport two bicycles.
