@g__j Something i don't get about the IOG changes.. I thought Octopus was making awesome systems which used our cars as networked batteries, taking advantage of lower demand/wholesale, and give you and us more £, and less CO2. Did the models just not work?

I sound like a broken record, but it’s still true that.. The more the Chancellor wants to rely on lots of little taxes, the more important it is that she also reforms those taxes so that they are fairer and less damaging to growth.

@pumplekin @DPAutomation @baronlordvader @mikeysmith But imagine fixing it (and benefiting people who earn over 100k) or modifying tax in any way which disbenefits basically anyone. V unsatisfying time to exist. But. At least we're not in scotland, paying more tax for shitter everything else.

@AChatwin @DPAutomation @baronlordvader @mikeysmith Now THAT is fair to call broken. Effectively you need to get to around £140k to break even, and ... yeah. Whoever came up with that idea, dumb as can be. Cliff edges in tax / benefits like this is just awful policy.

@DPAutomation @baronlordvader @mikeysmith For what it is worth, the removal of the personal allowance between £100k and ~£125k is imo a really stupid policy and should be scraped. It is stupid that the marginal rate between 100k-125k is higher than 125k-150k.

@Dannythefink @celery_brigade The problem is scarcity of goods. The solution is the market. If we don't make people pay the market price, don't be shocked by arbitrage.

@celery_brigade Apart from the big problems (it made life so much easier for touts) it is a premier league obligation to move to digital tickets within the not too distant future. This is a MUCH better system. But there was always going to be a transition.

@Ghostcrawler Thin hens seem to lay prettier eggs, but are more likely to be deranged and upset the flock - go for some chunky robust ones to keep them in line

I know a lot of people are considering backyard chickens with the price of eggs as they are, and no doubt there will be plenty of chicks for sale around Easter. Here is my advice as a chicken owner. 1/

@RPMarks I went via: Farming is important, Farming isn’t very profitable Wealth taxation is important Simplification and fairness of taxation is important To: We should be doing more as a county to support farms We shouldn’t be using the inheritance tax system to subsidise farming

On the farmer/inheritance tax thing. I think it's a good idea, poorly executed. Clarksonesque tax dodgers should be fleeced. Asset rich / cash poor hardworking farmers need the break. A fair solution is complicated, and if it can't be done fairly, it shouldn't be done at all.

1 year old is being sick. It feels like I have washed every towel we own and most of our clothes and sheets. How did people survive before washing machines?

Listen, if Taylor Swift suddenly gets awarded a contract to provide healthcare services to the NHS, is given part of the HS2 line to run or gets given a life peerage like Lord Siberia or whatever he’s called, then let’s chat about Starmer taking his kids to her concert shall we.

@CentristQC 4/10. They haven't capitalised on the opportunities and have scored several own goals. I expected a 7/10 and they have considerably underperformed. Given I had the Tories at 2/10, this is still an upgrade, but not an inspiring one.

@MartinSLewis The problem here is I don't think either side disliked freedom of *their own* movement.. it was other people's which caused disagreement

@MartinSLewis I do wonder, if Brits were permitted to pay a one of sum,say £200 to have a EU stamped in their passport to have Freedom of Movement, how many would? I reckon millions would.
