Engineering critical infrastructure across different stacks and timezones. Coffee helps.

GrapheneOS will remain usable by anyone around the world without requiring personal information, identification or an account. GrapheneOS and our services will remain available internationally. If GrapheneOS devices can't be sold in a region due to their regulations, so be it.

Meanwhile in Brazil: Arch Linux has to suspend access from Brazil because kids could use Arch Linux, or something, and something about pedophiles. I actually have no idea what the politicians are even saying anymore. It's all bullshit and it's fucking over FOSS.

I used to mine more than I am able to these days. back before premines were even a thing... But chains then were more or less dumb chains with no programmable logic. It took 73 days after launch for the miners to mine a net total of coins higher than the Ergo Foundation's allocation for development. This is a good metric for understanding the power of the premine. With larger and larger premines in the Proof of Work cryptocurrency space, this is a really basic metric that puts premined allocations and the costs/value and time miners are subsidizing into perspective. Pie charts for emissions do not give this justice when the emission period can be 100+ years. Run this basic calculation and see how much time and energy various proof of work projects are subsidizing for development. Development is not free as it takes time, energy, skill, and a little bit of luck too... But there probably should be some balance. Clear assumptions and all that... Take a look yourself.
