Since my visit to the Netherlands, there has been a lot of interest in the Chola period copper plates being brought back to India. So, I spoke about it on #MannKiBaat and also mentioned three rare copper plates recently discovered in Chhattisgarh.

Ever since Shashi Tharoor contested the Congress Presidential Election, such news stories have been planted every month by some Politicians & Reporters and each time they are disappointed. These people want the Gandhi family to always view Tharoor with suspicion and that is precisely what is happening. Those who know Shashi Tharoor know that Tharoor will one day leave politics but will not join any other party, there is hardly anyone more Gandhian & Nehruvian than him.

My favourite primetime segment yesterday was on NDTV — where a stern anchor was grilling her over her paper’s ownership because it apparently began as a labour party mouthpiece. With no sense of irony, of course 🥲 Do watch this full interview. Yes she’s a young journalist and yes she may not know much about India — but that is exactly the point. In places that actually value press freedom, even the smallest of media houses/reporters can question the biggest neta. You can call it silly, irritating, a bit ott — but that’s what a free press looks like
