I voted to extend TPS for Haitians because I cannot, in good conscience, send people who were lawfully granted protection here, followed our laws, and built lives under our rules back to rape, murder, and chaos in a lawless Haiti. This is completely separate from amnesty or illegal immigration. Conflating the two is dangerous.

Reading is essential in aviation. Most young students want to be airline pilots. The amount of reading that’s required is phenomenal. Most would be delighted to get hired by Delta airlines and be assigned the76 ER. If they can’t be bothered to read they should do something else.

The required reading is a great unintended gate keeping initiative. People that won’t read or don’t have significant reading comprehension abilities are intellectually stunted and don’t need to clutter up the airspace. In my, recent, former occupation a flight plan package contained about 80 pages of NOTAMs, Space Weather, and Volcano activity reports. CPDLC is completely word based. Go to a flight school in South Florida to get an idea of how bad the lack of reading comprehension is.
