Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi (Tan Dhesi) has been the Labour MP for Slough since 2017. Tan Dhesi has been a member of the Defence Select Committee since 2020 and its Chair since 2024. He regularly attends international defence conferences and consistently advocates for increased military spending. Tan Dhesi is closely linked to the Coalition For Global Prosperity (CGP) - a right wing organisation set up in 2018 by David Cameron and Penny Mordaunt with the aim of ‘combining foreign aid, diplomacy, and defense to make the world safer and healthier.’ Tan Dhesi is a member of several All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPG) including the APPGs for the Armed Forces and malaria and tropical diseases. He has also been an advisor to the charity @mencap_charity The @ElectoralCommUK website shows that Tan Dhesi has received £14,205.39 in donations but he has in fact received much more than this. Tan Dhesi’s donations and perks include: £10,000 from Aquarius Bio Ltd - a biotechnology company that has links to the oil, gas and defence industries. £4,000 from Chaterpal Singh Jundu. £2,000 from @GMB_union £2,500 from Goldwire Financial Solutions Ltd. £2,000 from Pardeep Singh. £2,002 from Tradekraft Ltd. £5,000 from @unitetheunion £2,000 from Davinder Mahli. £2,000 from The Island Residential Home Ltd. £5,000 from Stanmore Contractors Ltd. £2,000 from S. Britain Leads is another company funding Tan Dhesi that has links to the defence/arms industry - in this case aerospace equipment and pharmaceuticals. 🇺🇸 ✈️ £1,109.93 from The Fredrick-Ebert-Stifung Institute for a European security conference in Italy. ✈️ 🇮🇹 £3,181.92 from the CGP for a conference in Washington DC with US politicians, policy makers and defence experts. ✈️ 🇺🇸 £1,125 in tickets & hospitality from Akzo Nobel for @Wimbledon Akzo Nobel has links to the defence industry through paint applications for aircraft and naval equipment. 🎾 £895 in tickets & hospitality from Akzo Nobel for the Chelsea Flower Show. 🌺 £3,415 claimed for ‘dinners’ at seven APPG Armed Forces gatherings. With his basic £93,904 salary + increments, expenses, donations, shareholdings, media appearance fees, funded international travel and perks, Tan Dhesi has prospered in his nine years as an MP.
