@nuhre_ The first of the tie in novels, Exodus: The Archimedes Engine by Peter F. Hamilton was excellent and has really peaked my interest in this.

A lot of people aren’t familiar with Exodus, an upcoming Mass Effect-like that puts a twist on the whole “humanity reaching for the stars” sci-fi concept. Here’s what we know so far: • Narrative-driven sci-fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment, a studio backed by Wizards of the Coast • Led by veterans from BioWare (yes, that era) • Set in a far-future universe where humanity has fled Earth and is struggling to survive among advanced “alien” civilizations • You play as “The Traveler,” sent on dangerous missions across space • Core theme: time dilation—you leave for missions that feel like days for you, but years pass for everyone else • Your choices don’t just affect outcomes—they affect relationships because people literally move on without you • Heavy focus on companions, relationships, and player-driven narrative • Strong emphasis on cinematic storytelling and worldbuilding • Designed as a new sci-fi saga • Confirmed platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S • Still early/WIP gameplay shown, so there’s room for improvement No release date yet. But between ex-BioWare devs, time-bending narrative mechanics, and that twist on space exploration? Sign me the hell up.

@cimerians I've always loved how Royo illustrated his women. That's what made me pick up the Wayfarer Redemption series.

Can anime companies please get licenses from anime in the 80s,90s and early ‘00. And make some amazing dynamic figures from said series.. instead of the 84763828 version of super sonico or Miku. Escaflowne, Lodoss wars, Alita, Gunsmith cats, Iria, Dirty Pair..

@archon I grew up reading the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic and never heard the word "echidna" out loud till I was an adult. Always thought it was "ech-silent 'd' ina". Like itch, but with an e.

I read the AD&D DMG at too young an age and learned to read words I'd never heard anyone say. My parents had no idea what a "hobilar" even was, let alone how to correct its pronunciation. To this day I mispronounce dozens of words because of this. Who else suffers the same?

Because people have been asking, the book in question is Sisters of Mercy, by Yuval Kordov. It's great, like all of his stuff. A novella about two sisters forced to become weapons, trying to find their purpose and each other in a post-apocalyptic landscape.
