I moved from NYC to Florida on Jan 1.
This is my view as I’m writing this and smoking a cigar.
I haven't told this story publicly yet, but here's how it went down:
I was driving down to Florida to visit my grandparents and I heard the speech from Mamdani talking about trading “rugged individualism” for the “warmth of collectivism”.
I make memes for a living
I drive shirtless in my jeep blasting rap music
I am that rugged individualist your parents warned you about.
So what do I do?
I immediately turn off the radio.
I ask Claude to find me realtors.
I immediately start calling realtors while driving and booking appointments
I get down to Florida, looked at 4 apartments in one day, said “I’ll take this one” and immediately started the lease process that evening.
By February 1, we moved into my dream apartment on the beach.
It has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and we literally walk out on the beach .
It is less expensive than NYC.
I've only been back to New York once because I rented out a movie theater to play Instagram Reels.
We still have the NYC apartment, but I'm just eating the cost for the rest of the year because it’s cheaper than the time it’d take to find a sublease.
To the people who say “New York or nowhere” there is somewhere that doesn’t hate you and it is called Florida
Trade the warmth of collectivism for the warmth of the sunshine.
You can just do things.

@clintoptions Are you trying to give Trump credit for a problem he himself created?
English

Hate him or love him, Trump has done an excellent job in preventing the stock market from falling and oil prices from skyrocketing to $150. Yes, gas at the pump is still extremely expensive but things could have been a lot worse…
While the argument of whether we should even be at war with Iran is a whole separate topic, and while it has taken blatant manipulation to keep the stock market up, we are sitting at all time highs. So things can’t be that bad 🤷🏻♂️

When the rich start selling off their properties at a loss and the values go down, NYC will lose more tax revenue than it thinks it's going to gain by doing this.

Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.

I, too, could open a city-run grocery store in NYC with lower prices for food than existing neighborhood grocery stores if I had $30 million in taxpayer dollars and no property taxes and reduced construction fees and favorable permitting and also the city would need to take away current subsidies from those existing grocery stores so they could subsidize my prices while manipulatively raising prices for my competition and oh yeah I’m also gonna need three years to build it. Ok cool, am I hired?

@MW4Liberty Bet with me, if he posts something about giving to the poor, people won't be negative?
English

Notice it’s never “helping the poor”. It’s an entire ideology built on envy masquerading as compassion.

The mayor wants criminals to know that if you resist arrest violently enough, the NYPD will have to let you go.
The mayor also wants the police to know that if they attempt to arrest a criminal who violently resists, he will take the side of the criminal every single time.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor
The violence used by NYPD officers in this video is extremely disturbing and unacceptable. Officers should never treat a person this way. The NYPD is conducting a full investigation into this incident.

@greendragonhq Rich people don't pay much in taxes on their wealth. They don't pay income tax. They will only leave if the City is not safe. NYC caters to the rich. Did you see how quickly Manhattan was cleaned during the winter snow?

They said they were going to move out when heard Mamdani’s policies.
They said they were going to move out when he started polling well.
They said they were going to move out when he pulled ahead in the polls.
The said they were going to move out when he won the Democratic nomination.
They said they were going to move out when he was the election.
They were wrong.
Mamdani and those like him are the future of American politics. It’s time to start taxing billionaires.

I make $45k/year, my truck payment is $800/month, and I am boiling mad about this.

@WallStreetApes It’s @Publix and they have a bunch of rude Haitians working at them in South Florida.

American tried to order at Subway in Miami, Florida but unfortunately the workers don’t speak a word of English, or understand English
He says to put the mayo on after toasting, they can’t understand him. They speak in Spanish to each other, then put the mayo on before toasting because they have no idea what he said
We should not have to deal with this in America. Speaking English should be mandatory for all customer facing jobs

At least from what I can recall, this is the first time Trump has come after Mamdani like this since they had their first chummy meeting at the White House in November.
(Seems he's angry about the NYC pied-á-terre tax Mamdani and Hochul announced the state will adopt this year).

Attacking one of the City’s largest and most important employers is definitely a strategy, but it’s not a good one.

“We are working together with the governor to introduce New York City’s first ever pied-à-terre tax. “Ken Griffin owns a penthouse that he bought for over $200M. This is the kind of wealth that is being stored in NYC.” –@NYCMayor

@NY1 You are all idiots - how much did the millionaire mummy and daddy give the nepo kids. Did you ask for the parents gift tax returns?

Mayor Zohran Mamdani made $1,643 in royalties last year associated with his brief music career, according to a NY1 review of the mayor’s 2025 tax filing.
What else is clear from the review is that the Mamdani household does not appear to be the millionaires some of his 2025 rivals attempted to make them out to be.
