The good news is you can completely immunize a child from transgenderism simply by explaining to them that gender identity is not real before they encounter the idea at school, from friends, etc. Tell them to nod and play along, don't argue about it, just know that sometimes adults are wrong and this is one of those times.

absolutely. sunk cost is a real killer in this situation. that's why preventing it in the first place is so important. once they've bought in admitting you were wrong involves facing the damage you've done to your body and family, facing all the people who will say 'told you so' etc. Not to mention the absolutely savage reaction from the trans community. it's amazing people ever do it at all.

actually, i'm great at this. refer to the image i sent earlier. 6th consecutive record breaking year. All parents are affected, it doesn't matter whether the kid thinks they will abuse them or not. Parents have a constitutionally guaranteed right to control the healthcare and education of their child. I'm not going to argue with you about it because it won't do any good. @replymoder @TransAndMerican Well, over 20,000 schools have policies in place that encourage or require teachers to lie to parents if their parents ask about their gender identity. These policies assume the guilt of the parents.
