Why do you think the Bengals don't guarantee money beyond year one? So they have an out when the player no longer performs.

@BaseballErectus @IanSwanson_ @WrightWayWhoDey Historically, the Bengals are not a team that often cuts starting players early to save money. Players that aren’t playing well usually get to see out their entire contract. Off the top of my head, Geno Stone and Sheldon Rankins are recent examples

The #Ravens held contract negotiations with Edge Rusher Trey Hendrickson while Maxx Crosby was in their facility yesterday. It doesn’t get much more low class than that.
