DES OUTILS MLS MAL UTILISÉS Peu importe les raisons, quand un club commence un match avec ce type de XI partant, les chances de victoire restent faibles. La MLS donne les mêmes outils à toutes les équipes. La moindre des choses, pour maximiser ses chances de succès, c’est de bien les utiliser. La ligue offre des places internationales, mais si seulement 5 des 10 sont jugées assez solides pour débuter, c’est inquiétant. La MLS met aussi à disposition 10 places Supplemental pour bâtir de la profondeur à faible coût. Si, malgré ça, trois de ces joueurs sont perçus comme les meilleures options à leur poste, ça en dit long sur la qualité de l’effectif à ces positions. La ligue fournit également de l’argent d’allocation pour recruter des joueurs de meilleure qualité. Or, seulement deux joueurs ont été acquis dans cette catégorie, dont un seul était partant. C’est une recette pour aller droit dans le mur. Surtout quand 3M$ de GAM dorment encore dans les fichiers Excel de la MLS : cette colonne-là ne transforme pas une occasion en but. Et au final, quand tu choisis la formule 2 DP + 4 U22, mais que seul ton DP prêté débute le match, tu garantis à ton public qu’il devra se contenter de quelques flashs de qualité de temps à autre. Hier, en face de Montréal, New England avait titularisé ses 2 DP et ses 4 joueurs U22. Pour compléter le XI, les Revs alignaient aussi 3 joueurs TAM parmi les cinq autres postes. J’entends déjà les discours sur la Grinta et les autres clichés lancés à gauche et à droite. Mais le vrai problème, c’est le talent. Oui, il en manque sur le terrain, mais il semble aussi en manquer dans le staff technique, autant sur le banc que dans les bureaux. Et si le staff responsable du recrutement croit encore que les outils donnés à son équipe technique sont de meilleure qualité que ce que démontre le classement, alors il faut agir maintenant plutôt que trop tard. On nous a dit d’attendre et d’être patients. Les partisans ont déjà largement fait leur part de patience. Nos paiements, eux, n’ont jamais attendu. #CFMTL
