Purpose of Life 1. Life without God is empty Ecclesiastes opens with the famous line “Meaningless! Meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2) Solomon had wisdom, wealth, pleasure, power, work, and success, yet concluded that all of it is vanity when God is left out. Pleasure fades. Work ends. Wealth is left behind. Fame is forgotten. Lesson: Anything pursued as the ultimate goal apart from God will disappoint. 2. Enjoy life, but do not worship it Ecclesiastes does not say life is useless. It says life is a gift. “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.” (Ecclesiastes 2:24) Lesson: Enjoy food, work, relationships, and rest, but receive them as gifts, not gods. 3. Time and seasons are controlled by God “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) You do not control everything. God does. Trying to force life instead of trusting God leads to frustration. Lesson: Peace comes from accepting God’s timing, not fighting it. 4. Wisdom is better than foolishness, but still limited Wisdom helps you live better, but even wisdom cannot save you from death. “The wise and the foolish alike perish.” (Ecclesiastes 2:16) Lesson: Intelligence alone is not the meaning of life. You still need God. 5. God placed eternity in our hearts “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) That inner emptiness, restlessness, and longing for more is because you were made for more than this world. Final conclusion, the whole purpose of life Solomon ends with the summary of everything “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13 In simple terms Know God Reverence Him Obey Him Live with eternity in view Everything else, work, money, pleasure, and success, has meaning only when connected to God.

According to prosecutors, Kouri Richins put 5x the lethal dose of the synthetic opioid into a cocktail that her husband Eric Richins drank. Prosecutors also say Richins said she was $4.5 million in debt and thought that if she killed him, she would inherit his estate worth $4 million. She was also seeing another man. Richins attempted killing her husband on another occasion where she gave him a fentanyl-laced sandwich that made him black out. Before she was arrested in 2023, Richins published the book “Are You with Me?” and promoted it on local TV and radio stations. Prosecutors say this was an attempt to cover up the murder. Richins is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13.
