Last year, $9B of the $35B that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) granted for research was used for administrative overhead, what is known as “indirect costs.” Today, NIH lowered the maximum indirect cost rate research institutions can charge the government to 15%, above what many major foundations allow and much lower than the 60%+ that some institutions charge the government today. This change will save more than $4B a year effective immediately.

"It wasn’t the economy," @mtomasky says. "It wasn’t inflation, or anything else. It was how people perceive those things, which points to one overpowering answer" — the right-wing media. newrepublic.com/post/188197/tr…

@firebornnn We live in two realities, and more Americans chose to believe in the less credible reality. Future historians might call this the Misinformation Age, a time when people can easily cherry pick evidence to back up their beliefs and values and straw man their opponents.

@chaser @AJemaineClement The elites got a pasting.

> be democrats > pull the economy out of a crater > rebuild manufacturing in the USA > pump up the stock markets to record highs > bring unemployment to the lowest rate in decades > lose

Trump: I am going to put RFK Jr. in charge of women’s health care

We’re all thinking it
Trump: "These are horrible people. Oops, we should get along with everybody. They're horrible people. Some people you just can't get along with."

Speakers at Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden have so far called Harris “the antichrist” and “the devil,” called Hillary Clinton “a sick son of a bitch,” railed against “fucking illegals,” and referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”

The magic of the Trump tax agenda is that he cuts taxes -- and so total revenue likely declines -- but he does so in a way that still ensures 95% of Americans will actually pay HIGHER taxes.
