@thebbvegan Where will we get animal developed and tested medicines from. Early death on principle is fine for vegans but the rest of us benefit from appropriate research and development. How do you reconcile benefiting from these animals’ use?

“‘I love animals’
orders their body for lunch You don’t hate animals, you just don’t want to think about what you’re doing to them. Convenience > compassion, right? If your values only exist when they’re easy… they’re not values.”

This morning at Kepak slaughterhouse, Merthyr. These poor lambs crammed into this trailer. Just one trailer of many, sent to a violently brutal death for your Easter dinner 💔 Please see them in your hearts ❤️‍🔥 don’t fund & support this horrific cruelty. #southwalesanimalsave

@gajido_ian @AdrianRamsay @DanicaPriest so the answer is to remove dairy farming and reorient the land to badger habitat? How does that solve badger TB or doesn’t that matter? How does we get TB medication for badgers without animal testing?

@Birdlipper @AdrianRamsay @DanicaPriest The culling policy is to combat the spread of TB in dairy and beef herds. It will not work. Culling because of overpopulation is a separated issue. Driving a species to localized extinction levels in support of a subsudised industry that is not required is not acceptable.

After more than a decade of culling and the deaths of over 230,000 badgers, I welcome reports that the government has committed to ending the cull. I’ve written to the responsible minister asking her to confirm that badger culling in England will end in full.

@DaleVince Err you might want to check the climatic difference twixt UK and Thailand. The high heat and humidity does mean lower stocking densities

This article is chock full of hypocrisy - pointing the finger at chicken farming in Asia while banging on about higher welfare standards here and the idea that ’they’ focus on efficiency over there while ‘we’ focus on welfare. Look at the picture, it’s a chicken farm in Thailand, those birds have space, there’s 2 or 3 per square metre. Our ’superior’ welfare standards allow 14 chickens in the same space. This article talks utter nonsense. Chicken farmers like all intensive animal farmers, care about just one thing - money. thetimes.com/life-style/foo…

@PlantBasedNews It definitely includes animals. Else Bible would have simply said thou shall not kill humans.

Does 'Thou shalt not kill' include animals? Truthfully - what would Jesus do? Would he have aligned more with animal agriculture or veganism? ❤️ Tell us your thoughts 💭

@MarkBski @PlantBasedNews The difference is that the organisms inside your body aren't sentient nor do they have a nervous system, which animals do have.

@gajido_ian @AdrianRamsay @DanicaPriest What is the optimal badger population? Given there’s no natural predator will we all be looking forward to a sett in every garden? Any clue on what your idea is to solve TB in badgers?

@AdrianRamsay @DanicaPriest Most cattle infections are a result of cattle to cattle transmission. Badgers are an important natural species whereas cattle form part of a resource intensive industry whose calorie contribution can be replaced with non meat alternatives that are far healthier and not cruel.

It's amazing how the Green party leadership, a woman, a gay Jew and a Muslim, manages to be accused of islamaphobia, antisemitism and misogyny all at the same time. Perhaps this is just the media and establishment having a breakdown because they know the Greens are gonna tax the rich?

@lukejcr Based on what knowledge and experience? Back to 6th form debating society as usual. Here’s one for you to ponder; what’s the difference between fox torn apart post death and a lamb at the butchers?

“Trail hunting” isn’t some quaint countryside tradition. It’s a loophole to keep fox hunting alive. Foxes torn apart while right-wing politicians look the other way. Or even worse, defend it. No longer. Labour's a step closer to banning it for good. bbc.com/news/articles/…

If you care about animals, you also need to go vegan for the animals. All those animals you love as a vegetarian? They’re still going to be killed. Stealing the milk. Stealing the eggs. Stealing the honey… …they all end up being killed. Go ahead and take yourself over into the vegan bracket. This is how you actually become the change you want to see in the world.

For whoever needs to hear this I'm the only Jewish person to lead a political party - third largest in the country. The Daily Mail have been & always will be my enemy - they historically supported fascists & continue to do so. I'll take no lectures from them on Antisemitism.

Veganism is an ethical philosophy based on reducing the suffering of other sentient beings. Folks are making the connection that what happens to animals in animal exploitation industries is just not in line with their core values. Join the Herd!🐮🥰 ➡️bit.ly/4d0Lcxn

The consultation on the Hunting Act is NOT an attack on the rural communities. Most rural people (like myself) abhor hunting. This is about protecting our wildlife from people who take pleasure in killing.
