This should be a no-brainer for any GM working with an owner who actually wants to win a Super Bowl. And is willing to eat some really bad years to optimize for that goal.
Don't try to middle a rebuild. Understand Jaylen Waddle will be in decline by the time you're competitive. Get valuable assets now, stomach the pain of wining 3-5 games, so hopefully you can win 13-15 later.

It’s not just about McCain. If he was part of a deal that made us better and positioned to push for a top 4 playoff spot this season, we’d wish him the best but would be praising Morey.
Instead, we dealt him for future picks that do nothing we for us this season and mean even less when you consider Tyrese Haliburton and Jayson freaking Tatum will be back next season.
This was the year to go all in. East was wide open, Maxey playing at All-NBA level, VJ in ROY conversation, 31y/o Embiid turning back the clock, and vibes and momentum on our side leading into the deadline.
Instead, Josh Harris and Daryl Morey displayed an infuriating level of indifference. An unforgivable and potentially franchise-altering level of indifference. That’s why we’re pissed and taking it personally.

Sixers “Process” was only scandalous because they dared to be more committed to rebuilding thru the draft than Boston (who didn’t even need to, because they owned all the Nets picks). Hinkie was in charge for 2.5 years lol

Silver didn't punish the Sixers enough for "The Process." Copy cat league, everybody else followed suit. Then he made it worse giving play-in teams a 14% chance at a top 4 pick so the tank pool is bigger & earlier. Now he has to fix the fix. Just stop man lol

I still think this Sixers group has a chance to be a competitive playoff team that could absolutely go on a little run if healthy. I just can’t believe they punted at the trade deadline. I don’t care what you think of Joel’s long-term viability, you needed to make an actual move.

The only reason it did was MVP ended up that close, which I had no way of knowing at the time.
The idea I did it just to get noticed is fucking dense.
But even if it had been true, the idea that someone deserves to have their safety and that of their family threatened because of that is the mental level of a fucking animal.

This is wild to me that people get so emotionally attached to their team/favorite player that one differing opinion makes them lose their damn minds.
The MVP “criteria” is so ambiguous, everyone values different things. Most had it between Stafford & Maye, Sam saw it differently. That's literally his prerogative as a voter.
