@berthababy90 Because it is usually* one or more of: -too narrow -full of debris -poorly surfaced -not actually a cycle lane, but a shared path -not suitable for higher speed (>12mph or so) -forces you to stop at every junction -forces you too close to parked cars -doesn't go where you want /1

Every London driver’s worst nightmare! 📸💸 A driver got caught out in this yellow box junction in Wembley after traffic suddenly blocked their exit, forcing them to stop right in the middle of the box. The driver argues they shouldn’t be penalised since it was the fault of other road users completely stopping the flow of traffic! The Highway Code says you shouldn’t enter the box unless your exit is clear... but in London traffic, if you wait for a clear exit, you might be waiting all day! 😂 If this PCN comes through the post, do you think they would win an appeal? Let us know below! (TikTok: asad.iqba1) #UB1UB2 #wembley #london #londontraffic #yellowbox

@Reality83323170 @UB1UB2 Or you can simply search the word 'exit' and find that it doesn't exist anywhere in Schedule 9. Perhaps read Part 7 para 11 "Box junctions" if you care what the actual law is. Highway Code doesn't create offences - legislation does. HTH. HAND.

@UB1UB2 I would appeal it as it doesn't cost anything youve got a slim chance but I wouldn't go to tribunal as the picture shows exit wasnt clear

@UB1UB2 No 'suddenly' about it - they entered the box when it was already visible the exit wasn't clear.

@68Langers @UB1UB2 The law states "must not cause a vehicle to enter the box junction so that the vehicle has to stop within the box junction due to the presence of stationary vehicles" What stationary vehicle was present when he entered the box?

@UB1UB2 Bullshit. The rule is you don't enter the yellow box unless your exit is clear. It wasn't clear before the car came out of the side road. Case closed.

@UB1UB2 The video didn't actually show the vehicle coming to a stop so it's not evidence of an offence.

@IsP739 @UB1UB2 No. If you’re turning right or left from a junction, it is permitted

@UB1UB2 The first (turning) vehicle has committed an offence ("vehicle which is stationary whilst part of it is within the box junction"). The second is the grey area. Legislation says 'due to the presence of stationary vehicles' - the problem vehicle wasn't stationary when they entered.

Is there a reason that Artemis II doesn't even attempt to get into lunar orbit and will be 4k miles from the surface? Apollo 8 in 1968 got within 60-70 miles

@BucksCycle @esaagar I'd imagine because they will be exploring the dark side of the moon, meaning the only other light shining on the moon will be from distant starts, they want to ensure they stay far enough away from it so as to stay out of it's gravitation pull within almost complete darkness.
