@JennyWakefiel12 That’s a strawman. your argument only works by redefining the command more absolutely than the text itself does. You already have examples in the bible where God commanded images. The difference between idols and saint/angel statues is that the later point to God.

@CDLDno Because God wanted to. He never told us to make statues of Mary or other bodily dead people. God created the universe; nobody else can do that either.

… everyone who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them Eph 5:5-7

@TharosProject Dumb ass protestant just indirectly denied Jesus’ divinity. Also, i can change that image to you, a pastor, and some random other person and you will be forced to apply your dumb logic on it.

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 Go ahead and block. Typical protestant ends up blocking after being scripturally refuted. You have refused the bible’s actual teachings on it. Btw, your comment on communion “rituals” already told me your denomination. You are of John Smyth’s church.

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 Calling them “dead people” is rejecting John 3:16 You were already shown verses that answered you. You didnt know because you prots dont really read the bible, your churches are later made and are built on anti catholic as well as selective interpreted verses.

@CDLDno @AL_J82 Fellow believers are of the same mind in Christ.. you are fixated on people who you cannot see & aren’t alive here on earth. How are you fellowshipping with dead people? Can you see them? Hang out with them? Our Fellowship is with Christ who we know hears our prayers

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 “pray” historically also simply meant “to ask” or “to petition.” Thats not catholic dogma. Even older English Bibles use phrases like “I pray thee.” All of christianity believed in the communion of saints, its just your protestant churches after the 1600-1900s that rejected it

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 All fellowship is spiritual. When you fellowship with another christian, that is a spiritual act between the both of you. You are the only one twisting scripture because other verses where given showing you those in heaven do fellowship with those on earth.

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 Yes but read Rev 8:5. The saints in heaven are receiving the prayers of those on earth and they eventually give to God.

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 You are inserting words and ignoring other verses. That verse says Christians have fellowship with the Father and the Son. It does not say fellowship is limited only to physically living people on earth. Heb 12:22–24, Rev 5:8, matt 22:32 Show it isnt limited to earth

@CDLDno @AL_J82 1 John 1:3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. “We” and “Us” referring to living people here on earth… you cannot communicate with dead ppl

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 Exactly — look at whats going on inRev 5:8 The saints in heaven are giving the prayers of the saints on earth (us) before God. This shows they are able to receive our prayers. You didnt ask yourself how these “elders” are getting these prayers in their “bowls”?

@CDLDno @AL_J82 Rev 8:5 refers to the prayers of Saints here on earth going up to heaven.., for some reason you seem to think that only dead biblical figures are Saints.

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 I forgot to add, when we pray to saints (or any prayer) we start with the sign of the cross “in the name of the father/son/hs” so it is in his name… we also end it with the Lord’s prayer.

@CDLDno @AL_J82 Jesus taught His followers to pray, "Our Father who is in heaven..." (Matthew 6:9-13), directing prayer solely to God. The New Testament emphasizes that Jesus is the sole mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5).

@CDLDno @AL_J82 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ you “physically” fellowship with people who are living on earth. The Apostles/disciples did communion with one another and never once mentioned the dead saints were with them. You miss the ‘Remembrance’ part of what true communion IS. It’s not a vain ritual

@Justsayin4sure @AL_J82 I did, and you just answered yourself too. Yes, exactly, they are not cut off.. we are all connected to one body. The christians in heaven cant still pray for us here on earth. Quote Rev 8:5
