69 anni fa, il 25 marzo 1957, i sei paesi fondatori, tra cui il Lussemburgo, firmarono i Trattati di Roma e gettarono le basi per l’Unione europea odierna. Fondata sui nostri valori comuni, essa è più importante che mai per garantire la nostra pace, sicurezza e prosperità.

At the Sigonella Air Base in Sicily, Minister @Yuriko_Backes visited the aerial assets for maritime surveillance that Luxembourg Defence is contributing to @EUNAVFOR_MED IRINI. An essential contribution for the EU Operation to fulfil its tasks.

Minister of Defence @Yuriko_Backes visited the NATO Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Force #NISRF and met with force commander Brigadier General John B. Creel. Luxembourg Defence is providing satellite communications for the RQ-4D Phoenix and the Allied ISR Forces.

In Rome, at the @EUNAVFOR_MED IRINI Mission Headquarters, Minister @Yuriko_Backes met with Operation Commander Rear Admiral Casapieri. Since 2020, IRINI implements the @UN arms embargo on Libya & enhances EU maritime situational awareness in the Mediterranean.

Dalla scorsa settimana, il Lussemburgo ha potuto rimpatriare 516 persone con quattro voli di rimpatrio. Sono molto lieto di vedere che tra le persone erano anche almeno 15 cittadini italiani, segno di una cooperazione e di una solidarietà europea 🇪🇺 e bilaterale esemplari 🇱🇺🤝🇮🇹
