@metacritic Critics think that if it’s not Oscar worthy then it’s trash and not worth seeing. The vast majority of people going to see it are families and they’re not looking for the next Tarantino masterpiece

@BamaHistory @AlabamaMBB This run was very personal and special to me. The day before this game my grandmother went to the hospital and would pass later that week. My dad was also in the final phases of his fight with brain cancer and would pass on Memorial Day. It was a beacon of light in a dark time

Tide Hoops History
Tide Hoops History@BamaHistory·
Two years ago today, @AlabamaMBB finally broke through the last barrier. On March 30, 2024, inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Crimson Tide delivered a program-defining moment—an 89-82 win over Clemson to punch Alabama’s first-ever trip to the Final Four. For a program rich in talent, history, and heartbreak, this was the night everything changed. For decades, Alabama teams had come close, only to see March dreams derailed by tough draws, injuries or one bad matchup at the wrong time. The Final Four often felt like college basketball’s unreachable summit. But on this night, the door finally swung open. “I couldn’t be more proud of a group of guys,” Alabama head coach @nate_oats said. “We challenged them… to pick up our defense, and our defense got significantly better.” Fueled by its “mudita” mindset and a relentless team-first approach, Alabama flipped the script on Clemson after an earlier loss in Coleman Coliseum. @imcsears led the way with 23 points and seven three-pointers, while Jarin Stevenson added 19 points with five threes. Nick Pringle imposed his will inside with 16 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. @GriffenRylan finished with 13 points and eight assists, while @AEforthree added 10 points and five assists to keep the offense balanced and humming. The turning point came when Pringle drew Clemson star PJ Hall’s fourth foul with 7:59 remaining. Moments later, Alabama unleashed a barrage—four straight three-pointers that broke the game open and sent the Crimson Tide to heights never before reached. “They’ve just been all about winning,” Oats said. “Nobody really cares who’s scoring… there’s been no selfishness in this run.” And with that, the gates finally opened. After years of knocking, Alabama didn’t just reach the Final Four—it earned it together.

@caveman20222 The rules aren't inconsistent. If anything they're too vague but the refs don't control what the rules committee does. The refs have never had the opportunity in the offseason to coordinate those officiating issues because of what I said above with the no contact period

@CalebMarioex It’s inconsistent because the rules are inconsistent. Ask somebody what a catch is or what targeting is and the booth in New York that’s supposed to have the answers still doesn’t have them.

@caveman20222 @UrinatingTree Reffing has been so inconsistent because most aren't full time as well and their offseason is a straight up no contact period. They could be using that time for more training on how to properly enforce those rules

@CalebMarioex @UrinatingTree Concessions such as clauses that they could just straight up terminate you within a 3 year period if you just sucked? Adding more and more subjective rules that make proper officiating damn near impossible? Remember when hip drop tackles were banned? No ref knew how to enforce it

@caveman20222 @UrinatingTree The NFL made too many concessions after the replacement refs stuff. They’ve been terrified of punishing them and holding them accountable ever since

@CBKReport I compare him to Kirby Smart all the time. Very good assistant that got his first coaching gig at his Alma Mater and has to learn all the hard lessons on a big stage. It’s not a matter of he can’t win the big games, but rather that he hasn’t yet.

Jon Scheyer’s reputation is going to be blowing leads in big games, but once this cools off, we’ll remember he’s one of the best coaches in the sport. Nobody wants to hear it right now (even Duke fans) & the timing of this tweet isn’t ideal, but he has proven that he’s WAY more than a recruiter. Duke is going to be Duke until he retires. He isn’t going anywhere.

It is inconceivable how ESPN, with all their resources, has such an inexcusably terrible app. 7/10 times when I get an alert for a highlight and click the CTA, the app doesn’t go to the highlight or doesn’t load at all.

That entire sequence made no sense. Just hold the ball and take the foul. Make even 1/2 and worse that can happen is overtime
