Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone gets a big mac. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button get a big mac. Which button would you press?

Ultimately I want to live in a world where people will take small risks to save me (not in contrived dilemmas, in real life), and where those risks are small enough to consider the moral satisfaction reward enough. I have lived in it. This world requires oppressing red pressers.

You're in the button game but there's a twist. If you press Red you live. If you press Blue you also live, but if fewer than 50% pick Blue then for every Blue player a random innocent bystander who was not playing the game is murdered. If over 50% select blue nobody dies.

If this is true, and it very well might be, it's not necessarily a good thing. If it is, it means every single person you've ever hurt is really yourself. @Catnee_ The FDT agents will bloc-vote red unless they have quite high certainty that they are the swing vote. If you play an iterated version of the game, with noise in the signalling channels and uncertainty about who the agents are, FDT plays red

@RokoMijic As soon as you have solid evidence that there are ~60% of real blue voters or even more, you don't have to worry about dying more than about "dying from a lightning because you fool decided to take a walk in a park and risk your life" But you can't have that for free

Just have a single (Blue) button labeled, “Press me to commit suicide by midnight.” And then in fine print it says, “Guaranteed to work unless more than 50% of humans end up pressing their button.” Are you suggesting it’s now selfish to not press the button? Because that’s exactly the Red button answer in the equivalent Res/Blue button case.
