It is a simple question of ROI.
Would I rather take the difference in the money for Freeman, hold onto some returning guys and then get another serviceable big in the portal.
The answer would be - YES.
Keep continuity, enhance returning guys I trust, than climb too high on a whim

Breaking: Alabama big man Noah Williamson has been granted an additional year of eligibility, and will return to the Tide next season.
Williamson will enter a front court with Brandon Garrison in Tuscaloosa next season.

@Only1LG I like this over going for that low mid major role. He declined under pope. Oats system fits him better. He’s a really good backup. Would get more production from him than any of our other backups from last year

But this was a surprise move by Oats and Murphy. Definitely gives us SEC experience and frontcourt depth.
