@EsTresidder That’s impressive. How many kWh is that and what m2? Do you think you are better off with a2a and a heat pump cylinder than the a2w that most heat pumps are?

Bit of morning data crunching. Just £87.58 of electricity used for heating and hot water between 15 Nov and today, including several very cold spells. Most expensive single day was a little over £3! 4 bedroom house, exemplary comfort 24/7 💥 💪 #Passivhaus #Heatpumps

The gobs of molten glass are shot into different chutes... It's quite a hypnotic thing to witness. Also it's very very hot in there.

I went to one of the world's biggest glass factories & it was REALLY cool. Here's what I saw👇 The factory is the @Encirc plant in Cheshire. It's enormous. Acres & acres. If you poured anything from a glass bottle in the UK this Xmas there's a good chance it came from here... 🧵

The schools are back open and you can soak in that small-town feeling once again as everyone drives the 1 or 2 kilometers to drop the kids at school, or get a liter of milk and a newspaper. Impossible to get anywhere otherwise, unless you drive (preferably an SUV).

@ThisIsProtos It’s hard to know what is truly green. We have a plastic waste problem as we all use too much single use plastic. Recycling it or extracting energy from it locally is better than it ending up being burnt on a beach in Turkey!

We couldn’t have chosen a better day to welcome Cllr @ChrisCopeman to Protos ☀️ Alive with the sound of bird song, a walk through our nature areas inspired Chris to introduce us to a fantastic app designed to identify birds 🍃 #Impact #Innovation #Community

Wistman’s Wood is one of the most famous woodlands in Britain, among our few remnants of upland temperate rainforest. So it’s a shock to see how tiny it is. Yes, this is it. Thread/

A quick poll for people living in England (with apologies to everyone else). If we had PR rather than FPTP, and your vote counted 100% no matter which constituency you lived in, what party would you vote for at the next general election? Please RT for a bigger sample. Thanks.

Spain, close enough to make us want to do something about the climate emergency? Nah, just carry on as we are.

I should add that a strong consensus is emerging that a 100% renewables-based energy system is feasible. So we don't even need hydrogen for things like heating or cars, where electric options are far more efficient. brookes.ac.uk/about-brookes/… twitter.com/janrosenow/sta… @janrosenow
Jan Rosenow@janrosenow

My meta-review showing that 32 independent studies do not see a significant role of hydrogen for heating is already out of date. Since publication in @Joule_CP @CellPressNews in September 2022 a further 4 studies have been published making it now 36 independent studies. 🧵

I’m staggered by the lack of reaction to the IPCC report. There’s almost no significant action. I don’t think we can get it until the media screams the full truth to the public & I see almost no one in the media who understands that this is true: New tactics needed urgently.
