You want to tell men/women in America who make their living in youth soccer that they need to make less?! It's a business. I want them to make as much money for their service as the market will pay them. If they can make a "ton of money" then they should...and I'll celebrate it.
Youth soccer (youth sports) is a competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for. I’d love if soccer was free to all. But who is going to pay for all this free soccer?
🚨 2027 Verbal Commitments Pulled We just heard that a Power 4 program pulled all but one of its 2027 verbal commitments due to the NCAA allowing a 5th year of eligibility. Our estimate is that roughly 100 to 150 Division I players in the Class of 2027 could be impacted and may now need to find a new place to play college soccer. If you or someone you know is affected, DM us. We have multiple ways to help players get exposure and find a great new home. Credit to the coaches for making this very difficult decision early. As tough as it is, the sooner players know, the sooner they can start looking. When similar roster issues hit the Class of 2025, some players were told just days before signing day, which was far worse. Some tips for impacted players: 1. Give yourself time to process it. Feeling shocked, sad, angry, or embarrassed is normal. This was outside of your control. 2. If you use X, consider making your account public. Players who have done this often get strong interest from coaches, and we will help amplify those posts. 3. Ask your club coach and director for help. They can work their network and advocate for you. 4. Talk to trusted friends who are committed. If you are comfortable sharing, they may know of programs with openings. 5. Reconnect with coaches who previously recruited you. Reach back out and ask if they may now have an opportunity. 6. If needed, restart the process quickly. Update your emails, highlights, and target list. Be open to all levels. 7. Ask us for D1 program info. We are happy to share what we know about current 2027 recruiting numbers. This is a tough situation, and it absolutely stinks. But this is a setback, not the end of your college soccer journey. BREAKING: The NCAA is officially adopting the age-based eligibility structure, giving players 5 years to play 5 seasons from either when they enroll or from the season they turn 19 (whichever comes first). The Division I cabinet was unanimous in their vote for the new model.
🚨There are 13 Power 4 schools with 10 or more signed commitments in their Class of 2026 which is a VERY big class considering 28 player roster limits and the upcoming 5 years of eligibility.
