This is a post for $BTC $ETH $SOL $KAS holders and more... Since I entered crypto in 2016, I've liked many different projects. Some I've liked for years, but never really found a 'home' in one, other than Bitcoin. As you know, Crypto still is 99% BS. It's full of empty promises, announcements of announcements and all sorts of rubbish. Then I found Bittensor. In fact, I spent the first 6 months thinking it was pie in the sky and passed on it. But like any nascent project of worth, it grew and evolved. Now in Q3 of 2025, it's actually at a much more progressed state than I originally thought it would be. And that's down to the open-source, distributed nature of it. And how fierce the competition is for the miners. Where Bitcoin created a distributed, decentralised cut-throat arena of competition for computational power (hashrate), Bittensor created dozens and dozens of incentive mechanisms. Not just compute, but a myriad of different things. Where Bitcoin only rewarded the miners (people providing hashrate) with 100% of emissions, Bittensor rewards emissions of 41% to miners, 41% to validators and 18% to subnet owners. The net result of this Proof of Useful Work and having more than just 1 incentive mechanism? Bittensor is now a burgeoning candy shop of World Bests! If a typical crypto project was a world best at something, that is all they would ever shout about. They'd nail the marketing and ram that one edge down everyone's throat. All of these leading capabilities and innovations under 1 single roof called Bittensor and the single gross value capture vessel is the token $TAO Similar to Alphabet being a big umbrella for all of Google's projects and companies and the value capture vessel is $GOOG But UNLIKE $ETH where a layer 2 can easily have zero impact on $ETH, it's not this way round with $TAO. Every one of these Bittensor subnets is an independent AI start up and they all have their own token and liquidity pool. The only way to buy these subnet tokens is by buying TAO first and swapping your TAO for these subnet tokens. It literally only takes 1 subnet to hit terminal velocity and become a 'traditional unicorn' and TAO will be dragged all the way up with it. A good example of a potential real world unicorn is Subnet 62 @ridges_ai This is a DIRECT competitor to Claude Code, Cursor and Devin. All with combined billions in ARR. In a matter of weeks (worst case month or 2), Ridges will have a capability that surpasses those incumbents and there's nothing they can do to catch up. How many billions of market cap do you think Ridges could be val'd at? DESPITE all of this...Bittensor is still under the radar at $3.2B market cap because it's absolutely useless (maybe world's worst) at marketing itself. Hence the necessity of this post. It's similar to Bitcoin in that it has a max supply of 21 million TAO. Halvings every 4 years and it's first ever halving is late November. The subnets also have a max supply of 21m tokens and a 2 year halving schedule. Bittensor is now my 'home'.
