@sarahdunham23 Just curious, Sarah: Do YOUR works save? (PS: Faith without works is dead. No bible believing Christian can or would want to dispute this.)

@MrPitbull07 You are not overreacting. You should not be proselytized by a vendor, or forced to have someone else's religion emblazoned across the product you paid for, unless you make that choice.

🔥 NEW: Fox News’ Martha MacCallum CALLS OUT Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) in FIERY live interview MARTHA: "You are talking about ILLUSIONS and not actual policy—Are they talking about not allowing boats carrying drugs to make it to the United States?" CROW: "Here is a novel idea. How about we actually prevent things from happening before they become a problem?" MARTHA: "That is what they are trying to do." CROW: "What you are saying is we have to wait until there's a problem to respond?" MARTHA: "What specific order from the commander-in-chief that we are asking our military to carry out are you objecting to? This is very vague! No one can figure out what you were talking about, honestly." CROW: "Martha, Donald Trump has made a series of alarming comments and suggestions that would violate U.S. Law and put our military in a terrible position." MARTHA: "You are getting nowhere."

@PatOLeary1 @5solas She did give birth to Jesus… and in the same sense, Eve did too. What’s Eve’s role in salvation, other than causing us to need a savior? (like Mary did)

@wendelltalks If one CANNOT be baptized (for example, dying immediately after repentance and belief), no. See thief on the cross… On the other hand, why in the world wouldn’t you? That rebellion very well could reflect a lack of belief, and/or repentance that should genuinely concern you.

All good. I appreciate the consistency in your position, and I am sympathetic to your position; however, I am conscience-bound to do what I can to preserve and promote good laws and freedoms for the sake of my children. Until the consummation, there is never going to be a leader whose policy is perfect, which is why I am resolved to vote for the best candidate. Of course, I understand the abolitionist argument against this, and I am glad to call y'all, "brother."

Incrementalist: it is acceptable for a legislator to disobey God now with plans to obey later. Immediatist: it is unacceptable for a legislator to disobey God regardless of planned future obedience. Honestly ask yourself which one is biblical.

@AnomalyBlessed @RealJRHughes Read the whole chapter, then be honest with yourself about the obviousness that it isn’t actually speaking about Israel or whatever group your eisegesis has predestined 🤣 I don’t expect you to be honest publicly. Just with yourself. Try.

He forknew the Church. Foreknowledge is covenantal: God “foreknew” a people—His covenant community—not isolated individuals. We are predestination as a group: The Church is predestined to be conformed to Christ’s image, and individuals participate by faith. Romans 8:29 says Christ is “the firstborn among many brethren”—a communal identity. Ephesians 1:4–5 also speaks of being chosen “in Him,” showing a corporate identity in Christ. The Old Testament often speaks of God’s election of Israel as a people, not individuals. Scholar Ben Witherington argues that Paul’s language here is more about the destiny of the Church as a whole than about individual determinism A. N.T. Wright similarly emphasizes that Paul’s concern is with the formation of a new humanity in Christ, not a list of predestined individuals. The question is what does “Foreknew” mean? It is not mere foresight: It implies relational knowledge—God’s covenantal commitment. We have precident in God “knowing” Israel (Amos 3:2), meaning choosing them as His people. NOWHERE in scripture does Gid say, "Abraham, I chose you to be elect before creation." Or the like. It is always corporate. Israel first in the OT. The Church grafted in within the NT. So when you look at Romans 8:29-30, you are reading your presuppositions (and pride) into the verse when the whole context of scripture shows a corporate election. Even the oh-so famous-- Romans 9:13 Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. This is a quote from Malachi 1:2-3 and is about peoples, nations corporately...not about two children.

Soft Calvinism is one of the least talked about problems in the Prot. Church. What is it? Glad you asked! Soft Calvinism is the acceptance of biblical terminology used with presupposed Calvinistic definitions which are unknowingly propagated amongst the church at large.

Not speaking for Sam, but I didn’t vote for Trump because he promised to veto any bill outlawing abortion and for the federal government to fund IVF. In my view nothing he has done or can do eclipses the great evil of child sacrifice. I wrote in a man that is a bond servant of Christ and shares my priorities.

Never? “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30 ESV bible.com/bible/59/rom.8…

The question isn't the definition of 'predestination.' προορίζω (proorízō) is the Greek word and it means: πρό (pro) = “before” ὁρίζω (horizō) = “to determine, set boundaries” It is used 6 times in scripture, and NEVER to define an individual chosen before time: except for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:28). ...not definition, but rather application: Otherwise the context of each use is used either for Israel or for the Church, corporately. NEVER is it used to define an individual. There are related terms as well. In full we have: προορίζω (proorízō) — “To Predetermine, Foreordain” - this used 6 times, emphasizes God's sovereign actions over history related to salvation. πρόγνωσις (prognōsis) — “Foreknowledge” - this word, rooted in γινώσκω (ginōskō), implies relational knowledge, not foresight. As in Romans 8:29 "For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined..." shows God's prior knowledge of building the Church and bringing salvation to man through it and to Christ Jesus. ἐκλογή (eklogē) — “Election, Choosing” - God's election: Israel or the Church; two distinct groups through which salvation is brought to men. * Israel - Rom 11:5 "a remnant chosen by grace" shows that God is not done with Israel; v26: and all Israel will be saved. * Church - Rom 11 - grafted into the root: the Covenant of God; we become adopted as children of promise alongside (not replacing; not renaming; not taking their name) Israel.

Every word out of your mouth is a “theological fabrication”, Dinesh. Do you not see Christ as the first cause of EVERYTHING? Do you think he simply predicted something by “peering through the tunnel of time” and that His prediction held no significance? I’m shocked at your Biblical ignorance, sir.

The Bible does say God used the Assyrians and Babylonians in this way. But the Bible does not say this about the Roman destruction of Jerusalem, or the Temple, in 70 AD. Jesus predicts it, but the Bible does not say he would return to cause it. That’s a theological fabrication.
Rick Davis@TheRhetorRick

@DineshDSouza God sent the Assyrians to destroy the northern kingdom of Israel in 722BC. God sent the Babylonians to destroy Jerusalem and the Temple in 586 BC. How, in your mind, would this be different?

Jesus died in 32 A.D. Did he make an unannounced appearance 38 years after his death in 70 A.D. to destroy the Temple? Or did the pagan Romans do it, but somehow on the orders of a risen Jewish messiah they did not believe in? Can you explain precisely how Jesus did this?

John Calvin is a hero of the Christian faith. What Theodore Beza said of Calvin’s godly character and service is always timeless: it was as easy to slander as it was difficult to imitate.
