We’ve heard your feedback that having Ranked and Cryo Archive overlap can make it difficult to decide where to spend your time and hard-earned loot. Based on that, we’re updating their schedules so each has a clear, focused window. We're going to open Cryo Archive this week on Thursday, March 26 at 10AM PT and close it on Sunday, March 29 at 10AM PT. The next window for Ranked will start on Sunday, March 29th at 10AM PT and will run for four days - until Thursday, April 2nd at 10AM PT. Here's a quick look at the weekly schedule going forward, so you can mark your calendars: 🐛 Ranked: Sunday 10 AM PT ➡️ Thursday 10 AM PT 🐛 Cryo Archive: Thursday 10 AM PT ➡️ Sunday 10 AM PT We know that no schedule is perfect, but we're here to listen and learn! As we see how this lands, we'll continue to keep your feedback in mind as we make any future adjustments.

Congratulations to all the runners who’ve been battling it out in the floating death fridge we call Cryo Archive! We’ve been watching and ingesting all the thoughts and feedback that we’re hearing, aggregating it and taking it down in notes. After this weekend we’ll spend some time looking into feedback and thinking of the next iterations we want to make: Main topics we’ve noted so far: - Scheduling : options for players who can’t play on weekends - Solos : is there any way to play this map without joining a crew? - Subroutines: can subroutines be more guaranteed as a drop from vaults? Any of these may take some time to figure out so I can’t guarantee quick solutions here but we’ll definitely discuss these topics as a team this week. Thanks for sticking with us as we evolve the game, and helping us fight the good fight against the cyborgs, robots, and aliens!

@solgob_ Nah I totally feel you. I really like the game, but it’s clear I can’t give it what I need to thrive in it anymore. Still fun though!

Marathon from the viewpoint of a competitive-spirited gamer that is older: Marathon is a very good game. I don’t consider myself a “sweat” these days but I have competed in shooters at a high level my entire life, always reaching the top ranks in games like Halo, StarCraft, Warcraft 3, CS, League of Legends and Apex. As well as attending LAN tournies in a few of those games. (Also currently loving Deadlock) I would have been absolutely in love with Marathon as a young fellow with more time to spare, as some of you probably are. I’m 35 now, on top of all of my responsibilities, I have like two hours a day on average to play video games. Some days, zero. And the following point is why Marathon will never be huge and might actually suffer greatly and ween off. Which genuinely makes me sad. It is simply too time consuming and unforgiving. I can’t even imagine trying to play this game as someone who isn’t inherently talented at shooters but still plays them for fun. It’s probably so brutal that it simply isn’t worth your time. While Cryo Archive is SO sick, it is a perfect example of this. I guess I’m just worried that one of the best multiplayer games I’ve ever played is going to suffer from the thing that also makes it so cool. 😂 I would love to be wrong and for Marathon to go on and gain a larger playerbase and keep releasing badass content for years.

@MarathonDevTeam Are you aware that we all hate the only on weekends thing?

We are aware of exploits allowing Runners to cancel slides to gain boosts of speed. To maintain competitive integrity and keep the combat sandbox balanced we will be fixing these exploits in a future patch. Pardon our dust!

FYI: Here's the current schedule for Cryo/Ranked. Cryo: Unlocks at 10 AM PT on Friday (first opens on Friday 3/20) Closes at 10 AM PT on Monday (first closes on Monday 3/23) Ranked: Unlocks at 10 AM PT on Saturday (first opens on Saturday 3/21) Closes at 10 AM PT on Tuesday (first closes on Tuesday 3/24) Once again, as we see and learn more we're open to iterating on the schedule in future updates. Good luck you brave souls.

Sadly u can’t confront anyone about anything in any way and have it lead to a productive outcome anymore. It doesn’t matter how civil and polite u go about it. People can’t handle being challenged irl anymore. They recoil and implode. An angry email has a better chance.
