@ApollosMission For those kind of games. Apex and Deadlock are the funnest things out rn. But besides that, a lot of our generation are settling into single player, co-op and ARPGs

Call of Duty is dead. Arc Raiders is dead. Fortnite is dead. Battlefield is dead. GTA is still not out. What is anyone even playing anymore these days?

I take pride in using Diablo 4 class setups that generate the least amount of FX possible while still being powerful. It’s always been a goal of mine to be a normal looking dude just shredding through dungeons. Not 100% possible of course, but it’s a fun exercise.

Got officially diagnosed for ADHD today and prescribed medication that I’ll be starting tomorrow. I’ve felt like I haven’t lived up to my full potential for years now, but the other day I decided to actually seek help instead of “toughing it out” like I do with every other personal issue I deal with, ever lmao. I just want to take back control of my life man. Hopefully this helps.

There’s 5 placement matches every season and even if I lose all 5 of them, it puts me in diamond 5 (two tiers under Onyx) 😂 it’s quite literally the easiest game to get the highest rank in. Idk why they never fixed it

@kwmulaboy7 @Hollowtide @solgob_ I have never played a previous halo before. My friend asked me to try it and I placed in Diamond (idk all the ranks but I think mid diamond) on kbm without knowing the guns, game modes, maps etc

@betty_egg The server slam was free to play and the amount of people that tried the game was way lower than expected. I don’t think the price tag is the problem. It could help some but there’s something major missing. When I say it needed a campaign, I mean on launch. Not now

So far I think Aztecross had the best solution - make 1 free to play map to get people in and onboarded. 1 map. I think that makes more sense than obviously, trying to squeeze in a full fledged campaign or "pve only' modes. Lots of what people are recommending for Marathon isn't coming from a place of genuinely understanding why Marathon is so fun to begin with, because they're not hardcore into first person shooters. Aztecross had the best idea.

As a shooter, Marathon feels very good to play. I think Marathon’s #1 problem is being a hardcore extraction shooter and no one wants to admit that. It’s also a game that is awesome to the top 1%, unfortunately it doesnt strike the balance to keep the rest of people around. There’s a reason the free loadout-only game mode is the most fun for the casual player. It was never going to be an instant success, it will continue with a niche playerbase, maybe grow over time. My only question is did Sony and Bungie know this? One thing that would have been HUGE in on-boarding less competitive players would have been a campaign. The writing and world is there.

One thing that happened is ARC Raiders blew up in the mainstream and it’s the most casual extraction shooter of all of them and doesn’t really represent the hardcore nature of the genre, like EFT, Hunt, Marathon. And ARC was a most of those people’s first extraction game. Some of those people tried Marathon and it kicked their ass in the first day and they were just like yeah, this isn’t for me. Without even understanding the mechanics and systems of the game

@solgob_ Not sure what this hang up is about extraction shooters. I suspect many people think they don't like them but haven't actually tried them.
