Demystifying the TV/Film development process. Senior-Level Development Executive/Producer. Still obsessed with Film/TV after 20 years in this crazy business!

@cheo_coker OK now you’re just being disingenuous. You know exactly what I mean. Of course it’s not random. Of course it needs to be figured. Lol that you’re trying to sell that he can’t get anything made or take a director job on something he didn’t write.

@DannyManus This isn't how television works!!! You do not write a pilot BEFORE you sell the show. You pitch the show and then they pay you to write the script.

A new episode of ‘THE BEAR’ was secretly filmed & is now available on Hulu. The prequel episode follows Richie and Michael on a work trip to Gary, Indiana.

Channing Tatum and Tessa Thompson will star in Charlie Kaufman's new film ‘LATER THE WAR’. The film follows a director - famous for blockbuster comedies - who decides to direct a serious Holocuast film to get the artistic legitimacy that he craves. (Source: Deadline)

Finally watched Dog Day Afternoon so I thought about this video again

I’m not trying to sound or be negative, but almost every film that has become a major box office hit so far this year, with the exception of Send Help and Iron Lung, has been the least surprising outcome imaginable. These are not movies defying expectations or proving audiences are suddenly coming back out to theaters. They are the safe bet with mass or build in appeal doing exactly what they were always expected to do. I’ll feel a lot more comfortable about the future of theatrical if and when we start getting genuine surprise hits. I’m talking about the kind of films nobody knew were going to be guaranteed hits but audiences showed up for anyway. That is when it starts to feel like moviegoing has real momentum again.
