IEA TO RELEASE 400M BARRELS OF OIL—BUT IMPACT LIMITED The International Energy Agency will release 400 million barrels from emergency reserves—about four days of global oil use and 22% of members’ stocks. Physical limits mean releases can’t exceed 2.5 million barrels per day, far below the 20 million barrels daily normally flowing through the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts say the move helps, but won’t significantly move markets.
