If your idea of promoting your church, is to attack my church, I’m going to assume that your church sucks. Why not talk about the virtues of your beliefs, instead of tearing down what you think are the inconsistencies/untruths of mine? Yours should be able to win out on its own merits, right?

@edlars53 @PoisonedFoon If you are a christian, then you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. No miracle compares to that. If you believe that God is all powerful, then there is no claim made by us that is out of the uestion or ridiculous. Unless you're not a christian.

And deuteronomy itself is very possably an insertion by the scribes (lawyers) during the great forsakening. Which would have been when Lehi left jerusalem and the The Book of Mormon started.

@Didactic_K @Primary_Pianist You make no claims, just arbitrary dismissals. Of the things that can be verified, he Bible is perfect. The book of mormon is not. The Bible is inspired by God. The book of mormon may be inspired, but its not by God.

If the Book of Mormon were a fraud… it’s a strange one. Because instead of replacing the Bible, it defends it.

@Combat_History @Primary_Pianist The book of Isaiah was added to by different authors. There's the long ending of Mark. The genesis found in dead seas scrolls is missing over half of modern genesis, and that is not in one chuck either. It's spread throughout the book. Just later insertions, not from Moses.

@Combat_History @Primary_Pianist All the original autographs of the books of the bible are gone. The earliest is a tiny fragment (papyrus 52) dates appox 125 AD. And they are not sure if it is or is not from the gospel of John. There are greek manuscripts that lack certain verses and whole chapters

@Combat_History @Primary_Pianist The bible and The Book of Mormon are both compolations of earlier works. The Bible, though, was compiled by apostate Catholic Priests even as recently as the 1500s, who discarded and suppressed many valuable books. Differnt edits still have different books.

The Bible and Book of Morman are both imperfect records written by imperfect men detailing their interactions with divinity, and the hand of divinity in the lives of individuals/peoples/nations. So the bible is self certifying... conveinient. "Why is the bible true?" "Because it says so, of course!" Ask of God, James 1:5. The only way to have faith is by fruits or revelation. the Bible is of God and will bring good fruits, but protestantism is an apostate group off of another apostate group (the catholics) that's at least 2 steps removed from original christianity if you dont count the all the major shifts inside of early Catholicism.

The NT describes a church completely inconsistant with the fractured manmade protestant hodgepodge. Protestantism is a trauma response to catholism. If you left catholism, it means you agree that catholism apostatized from the truth and lost their authority. A restoration is therefore necessary. If Catholiscism did not Apostize, then you should be a Catholic. If Catholisms did apostasize, then protestantism is still over a thousand years removed from true christianity and trying to recover original christianity without divine guidance (no revelation or prophecy right, can't have it both ways, either there is or is not continueing revelation). What did catholics you who agree are apostates without divine inspiration do that you still tote arround for some reason? (Compile the bible discarding many books for political purposes, write the (Catholic) creeds defining the nature of God through helenistic philosophy, and than posthumously excommunicate the patriscan fathers because they beleived in an embodied God and his seperate embodied son and in apothiosis, all beleifs that that have been restored through Joseph smith.

Actually, he built the Church of God by asking people to read and pray to God and get an answer. While other churches were attacking and killing the people who learned the truth from God. There is a reason they kept migrating West: To escape pursecution, by christians murdering them.

Easily disproven assurtion that has no reliance on the history of the bible, where it comes from, how it was compiled, or what it contains. I follow Jesus Christ, the only one who can save. I know because I have personally spoken with him many times, including today. But speaking to a modern-day pharisee is pointless. Have a nice you life, you'll find out in the end, and be happier for it.

@Didactic_K @Primary_Pianist Those same assertions can be made about Christianity, but they'd be false. There is not a single contradiction or falsehood in the Bible. There are many in the book of mormon. You are free to believe what you want, but know you can leave that religion and follow Christ.

All of those same assurtions can be made about the bible and can be supported by evidence. We dont mention other faiths because they are irrelevant to the message Our message stands on its own without having to attack others. Any book is just a book without independent verification from God by revelation, including feeling the presence and will of God, receiving visions, litteraly hearing God speak, receivng vissions, being visited by angels, and expereinceing theophanies. I have experienced or know multiple people who have experienced all of these manifestations to verify faith. Those who have not had any of these experiences or have not experienced miracles should seek them through faith for the purpose of growing closer to God. Most of the time, we dont talk about these things because they are sacred, and the details are for the person reciving it and for nobody else, but these things are not uncommon among faithful later day saints.
