@CoopRadio @redeyeradio @CCPA_BC @EmilyLowan @DivestCanada @DivestMcGill @divestuvic It’s worth mentioning that the Board of Governors that sank divestment at @DalhousieU in 2014 included staff of Alton Gas which was in a battle with Indigenous water protectors in NS. Dal made it clear who side they were on. Time will tell if they correct their mistake.

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the sudden passing of Robert Devet on Monday Sept.27.
This is a terrible loss for Simon, his son (writing this tweet), Bonnie, his girlfriend, and all his family. It is also a great loss for the communities he tirelessly supported.

Friendly reminder that @DalhousieU has refused 2 divest from fossil fuel companies for YEARS. By investing in corporations that usurp & harm unceded lands —Dalhousie is funding genocide & firmly standing against Indigenous sovereignty. I don’t need or want a panel discussion.

We don’t have an investment policy worth the PDF it is written on.
We CAN do better and we OWE it to students to do better.
Times are changing. Dal can’t be a stick in the mud on climate.

Even after all these years of Dal’s unethical investments it still feels f#*%^d up to write that Dal invests in private prisons.

We support #BeyondDivestmentUW because a real divestment plan can show @DalhousieU and @DalPres that false solutions like #ESG don’t cut it in a climate emergency!
