Protesting outside the private residence of @melaniejoly is wrong. It would be equally wrong to protest outside of the residence of any other person. Families, neighbours & personal spaces should be off limits.

If you want to be dramatic, go join theatre or improv. Stop using Twitter politics to try out for a CW show. This is why the left loses.

Nova Scotia is ready to unlock new opportunities. A new call for bids has been issued for offshore natural gas exploration. This is a step forward in developing our own energy resources safely and responsibly. Offshore natural gas means good jobs, new investment, and long-term growth. We’ve seen this before with Deep Panuke and Sable, projects that helped build schools, hospitals, and roads. We’re ready to do it again. Let’s build Nova Scotia’s future.

This is shaping up to be the most right-wing Liberal government since the Chrétien Liberals of the ‘94-95 budget period. Deregulation, privatization, austerity. A government so neoliberal that the Fraser Institute devoted a whole multi authored volume in praise of the budget.

@DropSiteNews I get we are all up in arms about her amendment vote, but she did ultimately vote no on the whole bill. We have so much to be angry about, we are wasting our finite energy on this.

JUST IN | Rep. Ocasio-Cortez defended her vote to continue using American taxpayer money to fund Israel’s military, saying the GOP amendment would have cut “defensive Iron Dome capacities,” so “of course I voted against it.” She did not explain why a highly belligerent apartheid state that provides better social services than the U.S.—including universal health care, subsidized higher education, and child allowances with paid parental leave—shouldn’t simply pay for its own defense.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s amendment does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza. Of course I voted against it. What it does do is cut off defensive Iron Dome capacities while allowing the actual bombs killing Palestinians to continue. I have long stated that I do not believe that adding to the death count of innocent victims to this war is constructive to its end. That is a simple and clear difference of opinion that has long been established. I remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza.

@christoaivalis Whether or not this was a good or bad vote (and I think it was bad), the amount of hyperbolic and over-exaggerated anger directed towards her makes us look incredibly unserious.

Somedays I wake up wondering if my political science degree was worth it. Then I see leftists getting angry at our side over nothing, and I thank god I don't have to use influencers or mobs to inform my political analysis.

@AOC Even as a drama kid, I cannot stand the proformative anger we use against our own side when they do something we have issue with.

Trump's efforts to dismantle the Department of Education go back to the post-Civil War era, when Andrew Johnson gutted the Office of Education in his undermining of Reconstruction, leading to Jim Crow and decades of systemic racism. The Southern Strategy is alive and thriving.

While this could show some CPC-NDP reversal from the election, it also potentially shows Red Tories leaving the CPC for Liberals, and Progressives leaving Liberals for NDP
