It’s crazy to me. Phil stood by his wife through cancer and is known as one of the greatest tippers to the service industry, yet he was vilified for going to liv and gambling a little much. This is a brutal way to lose an invite. I had something similar though not quite in the same level. A friend of a friend worked for pebble beach and had 8 years of employee points built up to use at the resort. None of her family or friends play golf. She told is she had enough points for us to have a foresome come out and stay on site and play all expenses paid. We planned on going later in the fall. 2 months later she got a new job and all her points vanished. One of the most significant bummers of my lifetime.

As the Masters approaches, I’m reminded of one of my all-time favorite stories- about getting an invite to play Augusta National… and then losing it just as quickly. This was nearly 20 years ago. A buddy of mine, let’s call him Jim (because, well, that’s his actual name) was a lawyer. A good one, too. Smart, successful, great guy. The only problem? Jim knew next to nothing about golf. At the time, Jim’s partner at the firm happened to be a member at Augusta National. One day, out of the blue, the partner invited Jim to come down and play and told him to bring a guest. Jim, somehow recognizing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (despite not fully understanding why), called me. The invite came in June, when the course is closed. It didn’t matter. I was over the moon. I told everyone - my work colleagues, friends and family. For months, I lived in a state of quiet anticipation, mentally walking every hole, counting down to October when the course would reopen. Then October came… and so did the phone call. Jim: “Hey, I’ve got amazing news.” (THE MOMENT HAD FINALLY COME) Me: “What’s up?” Jim: “I made partner!” Me: “That’s incredible….congrats!” Jim: “Yeah… I left my firm. The new firm made me a partner.” (Long pause.) Me: “I’m really happy for you… but forgive me for asking—what about Augusta?” And I swear to God, these were his exact words: Jim: “Oh yeah, that’s not happening. Why don’t you just call the clubhouse and see if they’ll give us a tee time?” I hung up on him.

First and foremost, I hope he and anyone else involved in the crash are alright.
But it’s now time for Tiger to really decide if he’s ever going to drive again. There’s simply no reason for it.

@jshua76_cox @CoachMcMillian1 This type of hook happens non stop throughout games. They’ll never call this a flagrant hook and hold when neither player is pulled to the ground. Especially if the player hooking never pushes or pulls with the hook.

@CoachMcMillian1 You still have to account for the hand on the inside of the arm. By rule it is a hook and Hold. Personally I think it’s a dumb rule but it fits the definition.
