I’m reading this Sovereignity Bill in astonishment. The conspiracy of silence among opposition MPs as this bill is being processed is quite telling.

The newly Proposed Protection of Sovereignty Bill that’s already tabled before parliament refers to a Ugandan citizen that resides in a foreign country as a “foreigner”. It goes ahead to criminalize demonstrations in total contravention of Article 29(1)(d) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda which guarantees the right to peaceful protest.
