@KramersFaith To be fair to you, I didn't often get abused by Mormons here. They openly disagree, and that's good.
But when it does happen, I know it's a circling of wagons that all groups are prone to. Real evangelism happens between people well known to each other.
English

@Mormonger Ok, that's kind of funny.

@redeemed_zoomer Agreed. They're simply awful and cost too much for the "service" they provide. I use Cricket now, and haven't been more satisfied.
English

@Xtopher_Uzo Your right, but what you think of the Catholic Church is much smaller then the true Catholic Church 😉
English

"If you just read the Bible, you wouldn’t become Catholic."
That’s the lies a lot of protestants tell their members so that they can keep collecting offering money and tithe, when the truth is actually the opposite.
Now, here's the truth they miss: The Bible is a Catholic book. Your pastor won't tell you this....
The Church existed FIRST. For nearly 400 years, there was no complete Bible. In 382 AD, the Catholic Church held councils that decided which books were inspired and canonized the Bible we have today.
Every Christian -Protestant, Catholic, or otherwise- is holding a book that the Catholic Church gave them.
It’s ironic that People say "just read the Bible and you won’t be Catholic." But that Bible you're reading only exists because of the Catholic Church.
Look at it this way:::
- The Trinity defines the Resurrection.
- The Resurrection defines the Church.
- The Church defines the Bible.
Not the other way around.
Without the Church, there is no Bible.
Without the Resurrection, there is no Church.
Without the Trinity, the Resurrection makes no sense.
The Church came first. The Bible came from the Church - not the Church from the Bible.
This isn’t about man creating God’s Word. It’s about God using His Church to preserve and deliver it.

@GringoPapist Honest question for the sake of ecumenical understanding:
If this implying transubstantiation, or does the Orthodox,Lutheran, Anglican, and Presbyterian concepts count as present.
English

CANON I.-If any one denieth, that, in the sacrament of the most holy Eucharist, are contained truly, really, and substantially, the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ; but saith that He is only therein as in a sign, or in figure, or virtue; let him be anathema.
English

@BruceNorth46058 -When scrutinized, the witnesses become less convincing
- The BoM had teachings contrary to the Bible
- The Spirit of God hasn't witnessed this to me
- What scholarship supports LDS claims?
The Bible is believable because it is traceable. Christianity has a lineage, LDS doesn't
English

@Elefjohnson And the Three Witnesses and the Eight Witnesses do not?
The contents of the Book of Mormon do not?
The witness of the Spirit of God does not?
Modern research and scholarship does not?
Are we sure it would convince anyone?
English

@heliec574 @CredoMilesX I meant to say keeps. I should stop using swipe to text, or be less lazy about proof reading 😂
What was the disagreement of the nature of Christ? Where can I learn more about Orthodox history and beliefs? Not a church, the nearest Orthodox Church is 100 miles away.
English

@Elefjohnson @CredoMilesX Please elaborate on what you mean by "what keys the Orthodox Church unified" and the schism was due to disagreements over the nature of Christ
English

@Russeldaisyduke @DavoustBaldPate The KKK was roundly condemned by many Christian Churches. No one in the Mormon Church condemned excluding blacks from the Melchizedek priesthood from 1847-1978.
Ironically, JS welcomed black people into the priesthood. BY was just a racist biggot.
English

One of the more ridiculous parts of Mormonism is Joseph Smith’s ‘trust me bro’ about receiving the priesthood from John the Baptist (Joseph Smith—History 1:66–75).
Smith claimed the resurrected John the Baptist appeared and laid his hands on Smith to transfer the priesthood to him in 1829. Slight problem for Smith; the Orthodox Church has had John the Baptist’s relics since St Luke the Evangelist obtained them soon after Christ’s death and took the hand that baptized Christ to Antioch. They still have it and it grants miracles to this day.
John the Baptist could not have appeared to Smith. John the Baptist has not resurrected yet, which is why the Church still has his relics.
The same line of reasoning defeats Smith’s claims about receiving more priesthood keys from Saint Peter. Saint Peter’s bones were buried under the Vatican in 1829 and are still at the Vatican.
Smith had no knowledge of Orthodoxy or John the Baptist’s relics, which is why he thought his ‘trust me bro’ about receiving the ‘restored priesthood’ and other such nonsense would hold up. It was enough to convince upstate New York yokels. It fails when exposed to the truth of history.
Joseph Smith is a false prophet. Mormons are not Christians.

English

@Russeldaisyduke @DavoustBaldPate @TrevorSAndersen Fun fact, there was never a "ban on Gentiles." I'm fact, the Old Testament laid out a path for gentiles to join in the Jewish faith.
GIF
English

@DavoustBaldPate @TrevorSAndersen He lifted the ban, just like Jesus did when he opened up the gospel to gentiles.
English

I’ve found today’s least self aware Mormon. Mormons kept their heaven whites only until their gods changed his mind about black people in 1978.

@sola_chad Ok if this is the flesh and blood now THIS is the state in which they all should eat it.
English

@ReformedToRome @sola_chad There are so many things going on here.
Sometimes the red fungus that grows on this fungus can create human like antigens, and so may pass as blood. But since it's mold, it will not have certain human qualifiers, much like most of the confirmed reports I've read.
English

@sola_chad Don’t be a lazy slob, they test them for mold first to ensure it’s not that.
English

@poperespecter1 @Galadhrin1 But the context is imperative to understanding the whole situation.
English

@Galadhrin1 Bro, I have read so much on this it would make your eyes glaze over. The context does not change what the words say or mean. Anyone claiming otherwise is coping.
English

@poperespecter1 On 452, the Western Roman empire was in shambles. Leo I turned back invaders seeking to sack Rome. This would be the birth of the Romanization of the Western Church. My Gregory I, the Church would declare it's primacy, work the Eastern Church scratched it's head.
English

@garrettham_esq @sola_chad We don't ignore James, we deal with the passage in context.
James doesn't disagree with Paul. What he says is "I'll show you my faith by my works." In other words, good works is the demonstration of his faith, without then his faith is dead.
English

@sola_chad Protestants quote that verse like we don’t believe it and then just ignore James.
English

Paul said we do:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
-Ephesians 2:8-9
CATHOLIC MAXIMUS@EcciusMaximus
You don’t get into heaven by Faith Alone. No one early Church ever spoke of this not even one.
English

@Allesontiire When they come at you with this, tell them that certain fungus grows that looks like that, placing it in water will give the fungus a more liquid appearance, and had been known to have human-like antigens.
English

Since when does eating jesus give you a holy diarrhea???
