@Delta, not ok. You changed my flight 5 times. The last one was too much. I was told I was getting a refund, and I purchased another ticket on a different airline. Now you tell me I am getting a credit. I want my money back, not a credit which I may never use and lose!

A few years back I declined to take on an extra duty at work on a voluntary basis, and a colleague told people “she won’t help people unless she got paid.” I confronted that person for attacking my character and accepted their nonapology (reluctantly). Recently, I was asked to take on an extra task at work. “Is this a paid duty?” was my first question. Why do I say NO to unpaid work? (Unless it’s my own choice in volunteering activities.) 👏 Because I value my work and my dedication to the tasks I’m assigned to. And so should my employer. 👏 Because we need to stop asking women (people) to take on uncompensated work. 👏 Because my work-life balance matters to both me and my patients. 👏 Because the narrative needs to change from “If you don’t do this, it means you are only here for the money” to “We take pride in the work you put in, so we will fairly compensate you.” Thank you for your attention.

@KashPrime I was a resident in the ED in the 1980s. Called a peds consult for a sick febrile kid with a rash. The resident was Indian, med school in India. He glanced in the room as he walked in the department and said, “Measles. Where’s the consult?” Never saw measles before or since!

Question for my senior colleagues who lived through the measles bad-times... besides the rash, what screams measles when you see a kid with fever? I can't believe we have to start looking out for this now.

We’re going to see measles in our ERs. It’s just a matter of time. Vaccination is safe and families should ensure their kids are up to date. Measles can kill children and there are many complications - I’ve seen many cases where kids are unvaccinated. cbc.ca/news/health/me…

@LakotaMan1 They should have a ballot box and be allowed to vote by mail! Everyone should. Even better, figure out a secure way to also be able to vote on the computer.

Some locations in Navajo country are so remote, that voters must travel 200 miles round trip just to vote. It’s time to bring polling sites to the reservation. Agree?

Anyone ever win a peer to peer with @UHC ? Today they went with, “You’re academic & too smart for me. They didn’t hire me to look at data, so why don’t I deny & you can appeal & talk to someone else”

@AirbnbHelp , very bad customer experience! Canceled twice in last few days while in Italy. Today got email that Nicolo had canceled our chocolate making tour in Perugia WHILE CIRCLING LOOKING FOR PARKING! Not chancing it again.

@joshmcgoo This is a bad question. For yourself, A+ knowledge and adjust your crappy bedside manner. The question to ask is what kind of a doctor do you want taking care of you or your loved one?

Would you rather have A+ bedside manner and B- skills/knowledge or B- bedside manner and A+ skills/knowledge I'd pick the former

Until this week, I remained a NoVid, which I chalked up to being fairly cautious, fully vaxxed & a bit lucky. This week my luck ran out. My case is a cautionary tale, particularly for the “just a cold” folks. Mine definitely was not...I literally have scars to show for it. (1/22)

@sjauhar @statnews Convenience is compelling. Copy and paste, when done correctly as copy and edit, takes longer than composing notes de novo. Take Dr. Remer’s Documentation Modules to learn how to do stellar documentation (icd10md.com/icd-10-md-modu…)

The triage ECG does not need immediate physician review if the machine calls it normal....RIGHT??? 😱 Cath showed 100% LAD. This life saved because Dr. Arjun J.V. doesn't rely on machine interpretations! #FOAMed @UMEmergencyMed @UMEMresidency

@19joho @stkirsch What a waste of your time! Anti vaxxing isn’t based on logic or science, and you can’t educate them out of it. But nice try!

@Dr_Oubre OMG! I was so focused on the harm they did to my father that it didn’t occur to me WHY! It took 4 weeks at his new memory care facility to regain the ability to get up out of a chair and walk at baseline after a hospitalization and SNF stay.

The pendulum has swung too far. Penalizing falls in the hospital has resulted in patients who aren’t allowed to get out of bed. They get weaker, depressed, constipated, pressure ulcers and ultimately need SNF placement. Ambulation should be viewed as a key to healing.
