the following events nuked the ai meme market: - $aicc - gatekept ai incubator presale - even though its intention was perhaps good, the distribution and ROI along with mass selling by even the main backer Bankless itself disturbed the market. when keen market participants see such returns, it causes them to be on tilt and ultimately lose conviction in their own bags which don’t achieve these type of returns in such a short time span, along with being distrusting of entities like bankless who was a big factor in such large ai coin inflows in the first place. - $trump / $melania - many FSH their ai ports into trump especially, and after making insane gains in hours instead of months, most did not buy the ai stuff back, instead choosing to cash out. obviously this caused market participants to be extremely tilted, taking massive risks full porting into farms / derivatives etc, trying to make similar gains to like their frens did on trump, and ultimately losing it all, leading to significantly less liquidity in the ai market going forward. - start up coins like $vine and $jelly moved some attention away from ai, it also didn’t help that jelly in particular was a large extraction event planned by LA “vape cabal” insiders. thus further reducing market liquidity. - many scems on the crime chain of the cycle, base - in particular $VVV - again an insider planned extraction event between the base team and the vvv team. but also in general I’ve seem in groups on an alt where they buy up XYZ memecoin on virtuals and then use large accounts to shill and dump on followers. this obviously leads to more distrust, and a turn off from this sector by the market. - the rise of deepseek - if their claims are true, it makes most ai valuations look absurd, causing the market to rethink whether their favorite AI coin should be worth 10 million, let alone 1 billion. even if the claims are now not true, it caused people to wake up to how crazy some of these valuations were, and now with many bagholders, it will be difficult to regain ATHs for most projects. - overall market conditions, trump as it stands is causing panic with his tariffs and other policies, and with a strategic bitcoin reserve materialising seemingly far off, the future does not currently look bright. so all of this does look bleak, but i do think with ai we’re just getting started. like the amount of innovation we’ve had, in particular with ai agents like @aixbt_agent and the first mover @gospelofgoatse along with niches like DEFAI (overvalued but useful) and ai frameworks like @arc / ai16z, is somewhat promising. and personally, I’ll still be on the lookout for the next innovative ai breakout projects. but sadly with a heavy focus on capital preservation at the same time.

So here’s part of my thought process (keeping in mind I’m looking for home runs): There’s a lots of defai projects. Any kind of agent that will do defi for you, including voice prompts, will become a commodity. It’s a first order task- “do what i say” A project that aims to create an agent that problem solves for you- “find me the most lucrative arb opportunities across all token pair LPs cross chain”- now that is something that aims BIGGER. So that’s why I chose something like $DREAMS over other Defai. If you in crypto, you need to aim big imho.
