BTN2A2 (T-cell immunity): T-cell exhaustion (Mandarano 2024). 3. FBXL4 (mito DNA): Impaired ATP production (Tomas 2017). 4. I really wish 24/7 headaches, fatigue, PEM, chronic IBS, that poisoned/hungover/flu feeling, and occasional gait instability, I wish new atrial fibrillation was in my head. As a psychologist, I’d know the difference, but so would most people. Pretty disappointed, @amolrajan. Who next, a flat earther?

It feels crazy to say but if you have #chronicillness, life was actually less difficult under a Conservative Gov than Labour, in regards to the Benefits and Medical system. Both much harder to navigate, have success. Labour blame Tories but why did Lab sacrifice most vulnerable?

@CharlotteCGill Any mention of Benefits by "Sickfluencers" is usually genuine information and guidance for existing #chronicillness patients who struggle greatly with the process as it's so difficult. It's altruistic influence. I doubt a well person would get very far with the process

@CharlotteCGill Indeed. I'm not even sure these so called Sickfluencers even exist either, whenever I've seen examples given it's literally patients who are advocating for themselves and raising awareness of their condition (POTS, MCAS etc). I think it's an invented term by some think-tank.

This really really annoys me. I have mild ME (thank you for ppl being nice earlier when I posted about this). People with severe ME can’t work. It’s close to being in a coma. Yet someone could fake some symptoms because it’s extreme tiredness (eg. Lying in bed). Anyway, just so frustrating that very ill people suffer and fakers sweep in.

In the article about ME/CFS I posted about, a doctor in Wales is quoted as saying "Doctors aren't taught about this condition.” We all know this of course. I’d like to ask the medical community “What the fuck are you waiting for?”

@fillthewhole This is a bad take, his illness started pre-covid although I have no doubt that Cov could have made it worse. But what's with all this LC V ME stuff? Can you not see that this article is ultimately good for all of us in raising awareness of post viral conditions? Work together

@JamieAA_Again Not sure if I have misinterpreted your tone, but surprised that you work in Virology and this is your take. ME is not feeling sleepy all the time, it is a Neuroimmune onslaught of constant severe discomfort and suffering. It's actually hard to sleep at all due to inflammation

ME is utterly horrible. I know because I have a moderate version of it (nb. people call it different names - post-viral fatigue, ME). I used to be very fit; I could do tons of press ups, boxed, ran & did gymnastics. Now I have to be careful. The NHS is terrible at diagnosing it. Something I feel quite cross about because you get worse if it's not identified quickly. Also, if you are a very busy person, BE careful. Take relaxation seriously.
