Kenyans living abroad to pay KSH. 1M to register their kids who are born outside Kenya. Marriage at the Attorney General office increased from KSH. 5,000 to KSh 50,000. Marriage certificate increased from Ksh. 30,000 to Ksh 100,000. Now those Wedding WhatsApp groups will make sense. If Kamau or Koech adds you in one, don't feel bad, just contribute. If you voted for Ruto, don't complain.
Further to my last tweet, I have engaged with @JuliusKBitok PS Immigration & Citizen Services. He has assured me that the Permanent Residence fees for children of Kenyan citizens were entered in error. This fee applies to children of foreigners seeking PR. As I had explained, children of a citizen acquire citizenship by birth. Measures to rectify the Gazette notice have already been taken. If the rumours I'm seeing are true, then my beloved government is going mad! How do you increase the National Identification (ID) replacement fee by 20 times? From KES 100 to KES 2000! The government shouldn't see every opportunity as a money-making opportunity! NWG
REVIEW OF CHSRGES AND FEES FROM THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR. 1. An ordinary passport (34 pages) will now cost you KES 7,500 from KES 4,500. 2. Replacement of lost passport will now cost Ksh. 20,000 from current Ksh. 12,000. 3. Replacing an ID will now cost you 2k from the current Ksh.100 bob This will greatly enhance the effectiveness of service delivery to wananchi.
BREAKING NEWS The Hustler Gov't wishes to notify all hustlers who lost their National ID Cards to kindly organize a search party to look for Ksh2,000 before they submit their application for a replacement.
