I held a courtesy meeting with the Member of Parliament for Eldas Constituency, Wajir County, Hon. Adan Keynan, during which we engaged in a constructive discussion on advancing access to quality education in the region. Our deliberations focused on strengthening education infrastructure, enhancing learner support systems and implementing targeted interventions to empower learners and improve educational outcomes across Eldas and the wider Wajir County. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to ensuring that every learner, regardless of location, has access to inclusive, equitable and quality education.

I have received with deep sorrow the heartbreaking news of the passing of Bill Ballot Kassait Jnr, a loss that is both profound and deeply painful. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Tiaty MP Hon. William Kamket, Data Protection Commissioner Immaculate Kassait and the entire family during this difficult time of grief. The loss of a child is an unimaginable tragedy that no parent should ever endure. May the Almighty God grant you strength, comfort, and the fortitude to bear this great loss and may He grant eternal rest to the soul of your beloved son.

Today, I appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Education to present and defend the 2025/2026 Supplementary Budget Estimates for the State Department for Basic Education. The session, chaired by Tinderet MP Hon. Julius Melly, provided an important platform to articulate our policy priorities, justify proposed allocations and align our budgetary framework with the Government’s broader agenda on education reform and human capital development. I reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to prudent resource utilization and emphasized the need to protect funding for critical areas, including capitation, school infrastructure and teacher support, to sustain access, enhance equity and improve learning outcomes across the country.

We also officially opened a new dormitory, a key milestone that will enhance students’ welfare and provide a more conducive learning environment. Congratulations to the students, teachers, and the entire ACK Ziwa Senior School community on this achievement.

Later in the evening, I joined Soy MP, Hon. David Kiplagat and the community of ACK Ziwa Senior School for a Thanksgiving ceremony in honour of the 2025 KCSE candidates, celebrating their hard work and outstanding achievements.

Present were West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin, Senator Hon. Julius Murgor Recha, Woman Representative Hon. Rael Kasiwai, Sigor MP Hon. Peter Lochakapong, Hon. Samuel Moroto( hosting MP) ,former Governor Hon. John Lonyangapuo, MCAs, directors and other government officials.

Emphasized that no student should face discrimination based on age, race, or background when registering for national examinations. To ensure equal access to education, the Government of Kenya is currently covering examination fees for all students nationwide.

Visited Chewoyet National School, accompanied by the PS for Public Works, Hon. Joel Arumonyang, to commission a modern Library and Administration Block.

Conveyed my heartfelt condolences to the family of the departed learner and wished those undergoing treatment a quick and full recovery.

Visited learners admitted at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital who are recovering following the tragic septic tank incident at Kapsabet School for the Deaf, where 11 students fell into a septic tank. Sadly, one learner lost life, while the others continue to receive medical care

H.E. the President announced that the Government will construct 40 new classrooms and a modern science laboratory at Kapsabet Boys High School, alongside 10 additional classrooms at Namgoi Secondary School to strengthen learning infrastructure and support quality education.

For 100 years, Kapsabet Boys has stood tall as a cradle of excellence, producing distinguished sons who continue to make an impact in public service, business, academia and many other fields across Kenya and beyond.

Led by H.E. President Dr. @WilliamsRuto , I joined the Kapsabet Boys High School fraternity, alumni, students and the community in celebrating a remarkable milestone, 100 years of academic excellence, discipline, leadership and service to the nation.
