Why are trump and Republicans using taxpayer dollars to bail out an airline? We should be helping the American people, not bailing out a struggling airline that hasn’t made a profit since 2019. Why is trump helping Spirit but not the American people who face high fuel costs?

@GlobalMktObserv The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) has significantly decreased, dropping by 4.1 million barrels to 405 million barrels as of April 17, 2026, The reserve is near its lowest levels in 40 years, I suspect more draw down this week.

⚠️How much strategic oil does the world actually have in reserve? Global strategic crude oil inventories stood at ~2.5 BILLION barrels as of December 2025, according to the US Energy Information Administration. China holds by far the largest stockpile at 1,397 million barrels, more than 3 times the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve of 413 million barrels, which itself sits at only 58% of its full storage capacity of 714 million barrels. China added an average of 1.1 million barrels per day to its strategic inventories throughout 2025, with preliminary data suggesting it continued building stockpiles in early 2026 ahead of the Iran War. Japan holds the 3rd-largest reserve at 263 million barrels, followed by OECD European countries at 179 million barrels. Meanwhile, the US is releasing 172 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to suppress oil prices, part of a broader 400 million barrel coordinated release agreed by 32 IEA member nations in March. China's oil buffer is truly massive.

@KobeissiLetter Basically lies in this post, as of April 17, 2026, the SPR held approximately 405.04 million barrels, down from 409.18 million the previous week and using more this week, the reserve has been tapped, including a significant 172 million barrel release. BIG OIL is making money.

BREAKING: Total US crude oil and petroleum product exports rose to a record 12.9 million barrels per day last week. Total US oil exports have surged +2.5 million barrels per day since the Iran War began. US oil product exports alone surged to 8.1 million barrels per day, the highest on record. Crude oil and petroleum product exports have DOUBLED since January 2022. This comes as Asian and European nations scramble to secure alternative supply following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, US crude oil inventories excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve rose +1.9 million barrels, to 465.7 million barrels, the highest since 2023. World demand for American oil is skyrocketing.

@RogerPielkeJr There is a quicker way 1) stop exporting oil and petroleum products and 2) the most important, stop BIG OIL from raising prices. Lastly, consumption is down, but another way to achieve that is limit the speed to 50 m/hour like they did back in the 70's, also one car per family.
