To be fair Jamie Smith has answered his critics (and I am one) in a big way. I notice both centuries he’s scored appear to have been more along the lines of proper batting, rather than trying to hit every ball for 12 though. Interesting

There will be some people who might (rather unkindly) say, it’s only against Leicestershire’s attack, but Smith still had to score the runs — and he has scored them. A 150* from Jamie Smith today has been a statement innings. He’s fighting for his England place and quietly showing his quality and character. And it’s not just the score that’s impressive, it’s the time he’s batted and the manner in which he got the runs. He’s been very good today.

So, according to the Telegraph, Josh Tongue and Jamie Smith have both refused offers to play in the IPL as replacements. Fair dues. Maybe playing for the England Test team still matters more to some young players than franchise T20.

The “boring Arsenal” narrative is pushed far too often by pundits with Manchester United or Liverpool ties. Where are the former @Arsenal players? Aside from @IanWright0 , they’re mostly silent. When other teams grind out narrow wins, it’s called “smart game management.” When Arsenal do it, it’s suddenly “boring.” And the time-wasting debate? That’s on the referees to manage, not Arsenal. This team will do whatever it takes to win the title. And rightly so.

Carragher & Neville commentate every week on their own teams on Sky and unlike the Wrexham coverage, we don't have an alternative option to listening to them. I will never get the hate for Wrexham when the English media do nothing but pander to the "big 6" in this country.
