Your insurance company is the toxic ex you keep going back to. Says they'll always be there for you. Disappears when you actually need them. Love bombs you with "bundle and save." Then quietly raises the price once you're locked in. Tells you "you're fully covered." Leaves out the 47 pages of exclusions. Gets mad when you talk to other companies. Calls it a "lapse in coverage." Takes your money every single month. Makes you fight for every dollar back. Sends you a 90-page document and gets offended when you don't read it. Promises loyalty. Rewards it with a rate hike. And when you finally leave? Suddenly they can match the other offer. They could've given you that price the whole time. You deserve better. Shop around.

Something I noticed about people whose net worth actually survives a bad claim: They aren't paying more. They're playing a smarter defense. Fewer unforced errors. Fewer emotional decisions. Zero blind auto-renewals. They’ve learned that a 30-minute film session on their coverages beats 12 months of getting played by a lazy agent. While you're treating your renewal letter like a busted March Madness bracket—just tossing it in the trash and hoping for better luck next year—they're cutting $500 in dead weight and advancing. They aren't insurance nerds. They just figured out that surviving the madness all comes down to the scouting report.

Not a bad one. Having said that if your income is solely based off your 9-5, you’re going to have a tough time surviving moving forward. Nothing is getting cheaper and salaries are barely increasing. That why I always recommend people finding a side hustle or another skill set that can make you money. Your company could lay you off tomorrow and you may have to fall back on that learned skill set until you find something else.

One of the biggest problems with X: Your followers don’t see your content. That breaks the relationship between creators and audience. It makes it harder to build trust, friendships, and communities. This used to be a networking site. Now it’s driven by slop and algo chasing.

The life of a millennial with a side hustle: 9-5 pays the bills. The side hustle pays for the life you actually want. You're editing Reels at 11pm after putting the kids to bed Your "office" is your kitchen table and your "coworker" is your dog You made $742 on the side last year and told no one because you don't want to jinx it Your W-2 job gives you health insurance. Your 1099 gives you anxiety. You have zero liability coverage on your side hustle One client lawsuit and your personal savings are gone You didn't build a business. You built an uninsured liability with a Canva logo. But you're figuring it out. Like you always do.

@BarefootStudent I'll keep saying it but now is a good time to look at a career in insurance as I see a lot of job postings for it. Many are non-commission based that are stable with high earnings potential. Everyone needs insurance so there will always be jobs in the insurance sector.

If you’re a small account…NO ONE SEES YOU. Seriously I have a small almost 13,000 followers… I comment and repost mostly on larger accounts, but no one ever sees it if I just try to post something that’s on my mind. It’s like talking to yourself. After a while, you just think I’ll check the news…. I’m not Posting anything original Because no one will see it. It sucks!

This can apply to the W-2 lifestyle and assuming it is the only way to live. When you apply for a job, you are trading your most valuable asset (time) for a capped upside and unlimited downside (layoffs). Learn how to diversify your skillset. It's hard but once you understand the math behind how money moves, you never have to beg a recruiter for a job again.

@hamptonism Not to mention the rising costs associated with owning, like maintenance and insurance. Homeowners insurance keeps going up and can be anywhere from $2-$5k. With renters, the only thing you need is renters insurance and it’s only like $20/mo.

A very underrated insurance investment is a $50 dashcam. It turns every he-said-she-said accident into undeniable evidence. Some insurers even give you a discount for having one. Cheapest legal protection you'll ever buy.

@NotA_Bull In today's market, yes. Ten years ago I would say absolutely not. Being a homeowner today has way more cons in comparison to renting considering how expensive everything is nowadays.

That would be cool but that's not how it works unfortunately. Your premium doesn't go into a personal savings account; it goes into a giant communal pool. Your 'unused' money didn't just sit there. It paid to replace the $80,000 EV your neighbor totaled last week. If carriers gave refunds, they would be out of business in no time.

Car insurance is a scam. No accidents. No tickets. No claims. and you still pay full price every year. Safe drivers deserve partial refunds.

Fun fact for everyone who bought "virtual real estate" in the Metaverse. Your property insurance explicitly excludes digital assets. A standard policy covers physical damage to tangible property. There is no "Loss of Use" coverage when a billionaire decides to pull the plug on the servers housing your fake mansion. It’s a 100% uninsured total loss.

@SteveOnSpeed Mostly agree. It would need to be a remote position though. Not sitting in traffic just to be in an office cubicle all day for a job I absolutely hate. Already done that and not doing it again lol.

This may not be popular, but I'm going to say it anyway: I'd much rather work a $120,000/year job I don't like than a $60,000/year job that I love.

@unusual_whales I see it everyday in the insurance world. Premiums increasing across the board and unfortunately nothing that can be done about it. Inflation has played a big role as the cost of claim payouts have drastically increased over the past five years.
