We've decided not to move forward with Smoo.th - we reconsidered our go to market strategy during our road show and couldn't figure any that would be suitable for the growth scenario we envisioned as a team. Therefore we'd rather save everybody time and money.

Elon Musk today at Cannes Lions:
→ 𝕏 is the most effective platform to reach the most influential leaders of the world.
→ I believe in sort of freedom of choice. Advertisers have a right to appear next to content that they think is compatible to their brand.
→ I do shoot myself in the foot from time to time but atleast you know it is genuine, not from the PR department.
→ GFY remark was not to advertisers as a whole. It was with respect to freedom of speech. It is important to have a global free speech platform where people with a wide range of opinions can voice their views. In some cases there were advertisers who were insisting on censorship.
→ In terms of Brand Safety, every third-party verification tool has given us an A+.
→ Every human will have a humanoid robot. I think there will be 20 billion humanoid robots.
→ Companies that will succeed are those that most effectively use AI. AI is an immensely powerful tool, providing better answers than a collection of links and enabling real-time aggregation of collective wisdom.
→ 𝕏 is the premier destination for marketers and advertisers to reach senior decision-makers and influential individuals who run countries and companies. They aren't watching TV or making TikToks.
→ We live in the most interesting time of history. We should not force AI to lie.
→ I tend to agree with Geoff Hinton – one of the godfathers of AI – and he thinks there’s a 10-20% probability of something terrible happening. The glass is 80% full. Look on the bright side.
→ There will be a crisis of meaning with AGI and robots. What is our purpose when we don't have to work? We are heading to an age of abundance.
→ If AI can do everything you can do but better, what’s the point of doing things? I think there will be an existential crisis.
→ I think the most likely outcome is one of abundance, where goods and services are available to anyone. There’s no shortage for any one of us. It would be a universal hike. Work would be optional.

A woman said to me today… The system has failed her daughter. It is broken and we need to fix it.
I disagree. Do you know why young people are flailing??
Because of us… and her. Young people were told…
The fact they even exist is a crime because more humans, equal more climate change.
Lord forbid they have babies because what kind of monster would have a kid in this?
They were told…
They live on stolen ground, and shame on them for being colonizers.
That capitalism is a crime and steals from others not lifts them up. America is defined not by being a beacon of hope but oppression.
Slavery is their burden even though they had no part in it, and were not even alive yet.
They should apologize for their whiteness, or whatever privilege society tells them they have.
They should define themselves by how they like to have sex.
And oh, of course, it’s bad to win, get rich, be happy, find God, get married with a couple kids, and enjoy life. We should instead protest yell into the void on twitter and burn it all down.
I wanted to yell at this woman. Shame on you, and me, and all of us, that teens and young people are more depressed anxious and disaffected than “ever.” It is because WE raised them seeing nothing but their flaws. And yes we let the system do it too.
So with all due love, it is your fault… and mine.

Is BlackRock trying to control the entire #Bitcoin Blockchain through a Hard Fork?
BlackRock’s ETF application has a clause that allows it to: “use its discretion to determine which network should be considered the appropriate network for the trust’s purposes.”
This immediately sounds alarms to Crypto OGs, as we have gone through these Bitcoin network battles before. Can BlackRock really fork Bitcoin? The signs are already there:
1. #BlackRock will likely have the largest holding of Bitcoin’s supply after the ETF is launched. Which means they can get a large chunk of the new forked Bitcoin for free.
2. BlackRock is currently the second-largest shareholder in four of the five biggest Bitcoin miners in the world. These mining companies not only control the Bitcoin mining profits, but are also crucial in determining which Bitcoin comes out on top during a hard fork.
3. If and when a fork happens, the Bitcoin network with the largest mining power becomes the de-facto Bitcoin network that everyone migrates to. By controlling these large mining companies, BlackRock could force the new Bitcoin to be adopted.
4. BlackRock can even use the "#ESG" excuse and create an environmentally friendly Bitcoin that uses proof-of-stake instead of mining for its security.
This would be the ultimate nightmare event for Crypto, as BlackRock would be the richest player in the blockchain with the most amount of stake and can rewrite the rules of the blockchain. Their wallstreet friends will also accumulate this new Bitcoin as cheaply as possible.
In the meanwhile all of the HODLers of the original Bitcoin would be losing value to this wallstreet backed competitor.
In 2017 the Bitcoin Cash fork did not take much to execute. All it took was a few exchanges, a large mining pool, a large mining hardware company Bitmain, and an influencial Bitcoin guy called roger ver. If BlackRock wants to create a Bitcoin Fork along with their wallstreet friends and the US government, they might just succeed.

The reporter told Fran that she was going to publish her story shortly thereafter that evening so it was clear to the reporter and to us that we would not have time to respond. In one of my previous posts, I got some of the timing slightly wrong. It was worse than I thought.
Fran received her email at 5:19pm. He found me and Neri about 10 minutes later. A few minutes after Neri and I began to read the 12-page email, we realized that there was no way we could investigate the plagiarism allegations in an hour or two, let alone days without access to all of the underlying documents and a careful review of the relevant papers and sources. As you know, plagiarism allegations are no joke and often take months to adjudicate.
With no possibility of responding in time, I posted at 6:01pm that we would launch a review of @MIT’s faculty. I am sure you remember that post. At 6:51pm (I had originally thought it was 7:10pm or 7:15pm), Business Insider posted their story,
one hour and 32 minutes after the reporter’s 12-page email was sent.
Reporters don’t like it when you respond to their stories publicly before they are released. I have never done so before. However, this circumstance was so incredibly egregious, I felt that I had no choice.
A reporter was attacking my wife yet again, a woman who is totally uninvolved in my advocacy on higher education, but they thought attacking my family would cause me more pain. Even the mafia operates with more dignity and respect for family, and I apologize to the mafia for the comparison. Business Insider gave us no time to respond, and acted with actual malice and bad faith.
For further info, please review her posts where she alleged that she had spoken to me and was trying to help me understand the BI plagiarism allegations. I have never spoken to this person and never will. I have addressed her false statements in two responses to her posts. I encourage you to read them if you care to learn more.
Earlier today, Neri heard that Business Insider is now calling her former students for whatever story it is working on now. You might ask yourself:
Why is Business Insider reviewing and attacking Neri Oxman’s life and career?
In my 36-year career, I have never had the experience of a journalist and their employer attacking the life partner of a subject of any story, even a big one. Even Herbalife and the journalists that covered that escapade chose to stay away from attacking my family. Perhaps I am just lucky or perhaps Business Insider is a disgusting and unethical journalistic operation.
I had forgotten Axel Springer had acquired Business Insider. Axel Springer is now controlled by KKR. I am therefore incredibly shocked by the conduct of a company controlled by KKR, a firm that I have had enormous respect for over the years. I hope they have no idea what is going on in their Business Insider subsidiary, but I am going to look into it. My best guess is that the incentives for management of BI are designed poorly, or as I have been told, the Editor of Business Insider’s Investigative Division has an agenda that he is pursuing against my wife or something else is going on.
I would greatly appreciate if the X community can help figure this out.
Other journalists sadly are playing the same game. They call OXMAN for comment, which as a start up in stealth mode doesn’t have a communications person, and the office manager takes a message. The message is then passed to Neri who is, of course, focused on her work. By the time Neri has a chance to field the inquiry, the story is already published in most cases, literally minutes later. This has to stop.
Last night, a reporter at Bloomberg, let’s call her Kathy, left messages on my kids’ cell phones that she was writing a story on me and asking them to call back so they could answer her questions.
I am an enormous fan of the Bloomberg company. I advocated for Mike Bloomberg for president such is the respect I have for him. I know this reporter and I can’t believe that she called my children on their cell phones.
Kathy, WTF is going on?
Lastly, if X was not independently controlled and governed by a free speech absolutist, Neri and I would not have had the ability to respond in a rapid fashion in a public forum where free speech is allowed, encouraged, and respected. I would also not have had the ability to reach millions of people with what I believe are important messages.
And I would not have been able to be nearly as effective in my campaign to help save the higher education system in our country, and I represent just one of hundreds of millions of grateful users.
So thank you @elonmusk !!! and thank you @lindayaX for holding strong.
I am going to stop here even though I have a lot more to say. The good news is that you don’t run out of ink on X.
I am grateful for your taking the time to read this missive if you have made it this far, but don’t worry I am sure I will have an excuse to write again.

Today, I stepped down as CEO of Binance. Admittedly, it was not easy to let go emotionally. But I know it is the right thing to do. I made mistakes, and I must take responsibility. This is best for our community, for Binance, and for myself.
Binance is no longer a baby. It is time for me to let it walk and run. I know Binance will continue to grow and excel with the deep bench it has.
I’m pleased to announce that @_RichardTeng, our now former Global Head of Regional Markets, has been named the new CEO of Binance today.
Richard is a highly qualified leader and, with over three decades of financial services and regulatory experience, he will navigate the company through its next period of growth. He will ensure Binance delivers on our next phase of security, transparency, compliance, and growth.
Prior to joining Binance, Richard was CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM); Chief Regulatory Officer of the Singapore Exchange (SGX); and Director of Corporate Finance in the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
With Richard and the entire team, I’m confident that the best days for @Binance and the crypto industry lay ahead.
As a shareholder and former CEO with historical knowledge of our company, I will remain available to the team to consult as needed, consistent with the framework set out in our U.S. agency resolutions.
What’s next for me?
I will take a break first. I have not had a single day of real (phone off) break for the last 6 and half years.
After that, my current thinking is I will probably do some passive investing, being a minority token/shareholder in startups in areas of blockchain/Web3/DeFi, AI and biotech. I am happy that I will finally have more time to spend looking at DeFi.
I can’t see myself being a CEO driving a startup again. I am content being an one-shot (lucky) entrepreneur. Should there be listeners, I may be open to being a coach/mentor to a small number of upcoming entrepreneurs, privately. If for nothing else, I can at least tell them what not to do.
On that note, I am proud to point out that in our resolutions with the U.S. agencies they:
- do not allege that Binance misappropriated any user funds, and
- do not allege that Binance engaged in any market manipulation.
Funds are SAFU!
With that, I look forward to seeing the new leadership take the reins. Please join me in congratulating Richard on his well-deserved promotion.
Onwards!
