GodLogic’s father was once a Muslim, but Jesus saved him. Why? Because through that man, a powerful apologist would arise to tear down Islam and silence the Dawah guys. And we are seeing it happen live! Thank You, Jesus! 🙌

I left the Catholic Church today. Why? Because the priest said the Mass was ended and we should go in peace and spread the gospel😊 So, here I am to say, "Jesus loves you," and wants everyone to be Catholic. Listen to Him.

@Sacramentshow Protestants (Anglicans, Lutherans, and Reformed) all teach real presence. Evangelicals (some Baptists and Pentecostals) take the Zwinglii view of the Eucharist as a memorial only.

Serious question: Around AD 155, Justin Martyr wrote that the Eucharist is not ordinary bread and wine, but the flesh and blood of Christ. If the Apostles taught it was only symbolic, how did one of the earliest Christians get it wrong?

🔥🔥🔥 from @EliAyal17454205 “At some point, the orthodox apologist is going to have to give reasons…they are evaluating the church by prior standards of judgment, and when they do that, the person is standing outside the church’s authority in order to determine whether the church’s authority is valid. Guess what? That’s private judgment.”

@ThyPaddyDaddy @AnsweringRCs Tertullian, Clement of Alexandria, and Origen are the main church fathers that seem to go against this idea of a doctrine of veneration of icons and using them as "windows to heaven" as seen in the 7th ecumenical council in the 8th century.

@ThyPaddyDaddy @AnsweringRCs "It was standard practice to use imagery in worship." How about all of the church fathers that wrote against using images to facilitate worship?

@ThyPaddyDaddy What specifically in Ignatius of Antioch's letters made you join EO? Was it the language directed to the Docetists in regards to the Eucharist? Was it the 3 tiered episcopate structure?

@melvinnnnn30 @JayDyer Roman Catholicism can withstand such a claim because you have Cardinal Newman's doctrine of development. EO cannot withstand it because they claim to be unchanging.

@melvinnnnn30 @JayDyer Honestly, I am pretty sure Wood is just going to show that there really is no evidence that icons were used in worship as "windows to heaven" before the 3rd century. Once he proves that then that means the church changed doctrine in the 8th century. 1/2

I just agreed to debate @JayDyer on two topics at DebateCon 9 (October 24-25) in Orlando. The topics will be: (1) Icon Veneration and (2) Which Is the True Church? The end of the OrthoBro cult is nigh. 😇

@Dark_Justice_21 @vaticansillo @whpub Where does 1 Clement ever say that Paul and Peter are leaders in the church at Rome? The letter treats them symmetrically as shared apostolic heroes for the broader church, with no mention of them residing in, founding, overseeing, or leading the church in Rome.

@JeradMac @vaticansillo @whpub exactly! Clement, Paul they use the term "elder/presbyter" and "bishop" interchangeably and Peter said he is a fellow elder in 1 Pet.5:1, if he was an elder and apostolic people such as clement and paul use "elder" interchangeably with "bishop" then Peter was a BISHOP clear?

@Dark_Justice_21 @vaticansillo @whpub Got it. My mistake. I thought you were arguing that Clement of Rome said that Peter was the first Pope. Clement never says that Peter is the first bishop at Rome either. If using 1 Clement, then your argument would also have to be that Paul was also the first bishop.

@JeradMac @vaticansillo @whpub My first post is a response to the OP about Peter NOT BEING THE FIRST BISHOP OF ROME my first reply had nothing to do with “primacy like a pope”! If you understood it this way then the fault is on you and your poor comprehension Geez 😂
